Seriously things just keep getting worse. Ex is still not paying maintenance as he’s been furloughed again. I’m working 14 more hours a week and it’s taking its toll and I’m exhausted. And to top it all off I’ve just come hone to a letter to say that there’s outstanding finance on my car!!!!!! 🤷🏻‍♀️. I didn’t check before I bought it as I bought it off my step brother????!!!!!!!
  • Definitely think about going through the cms. I know they take a percentage but anything has to be better than nothing for you at the moment.
Have you asked your step brother about it? Its something I wouldn't even know where to start with. Is it a lot outstanding?
Hope you manage an easier week this week.

Oh Missy :( how utterly rotten. I do hope the car situation is either a mistake or easily solved, and that the CMS can sort ex (or his own conscience, which seems unlikely).

Have a hug in the meantime. You are doing SO well xx

You’re doing great but really go through the cms, if he’s furloughed he’s still earning something, so he could be paying you something.

  • Hey everyone.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Going to deal with Ex in the next couple of weeks when we know for sure about his redundancy. Then go down the CMA route if he’s still a tw@.

So quick update. Yesterday was a super long day. Me and OH had to go to London. OH has had a problem with his eyes and his contact lenses for months, he has a really high prescription. Because of the work we do he can’t wear glasses. So we went to London to see about surgery. And they can do it! Which is great news so we have that booked in for Oct. it’s a cost but OH is able to cover most of it and I’m lending him the rest to be paid back over 12 months.

Work is going well have done really well with my PTs. But I’m having to do Some of OHs shifts because of his eyes, and I’m exhausted. Had a PT this morning, just sitting with the children now and getting them ready for school. After the school run, I’m going to bed!!!

Have another PT tonight and need to do lots of washing!

Ah didn’t press post so will post this now!
  • So life has been so busy I’ve taken my foot off the pedal of money saving but I need to get back on it. I have paid £75 extra on top of the £450 I usually pay to try and bring the loan payments up to pay myself back early.

We’ve had lots of discussions, and we’ve come to the conclusion that we’re going to try and buy the house next year instead of in 2 years. So new budgets! I’ll have a look through and work it all out later.

Mays poorly and has been sick so we’re all at home today. Have had to cancel all work this weekend as OH is away on a course. It’s costing me £100 to not work which is very annoying. I could possibly have taken May with me tomorrow but it’s doesn’t look good to others and we don’t want to spread it around.

It’s weird to not have anything to go out for all weekend. Im going to spend my time sorting washing And having a good tidy up. I need to get rid of the bed in the spare room and get a sofa so I can work up there instead of chucking OH out of the lounge each time I PT.

So I have washing on the line and another in the machine. I’m going to try and get 2 more loads done. So I can sort it out tomorrow.

How is everyone? I’ve missed chatting to everyone.

Managed to sort the problem with the car, step brother has sorted it. It was to do with an extra interest payment he didn’t realise had accrued and moved house so they couldn’t get hold of him Etc.

I’ve been shopping at Lidl and really like the Cost and quality of food. Need a couple of bits but not much until Monday.  Just bread and milk. Children have bolognese for dinner and I’ll prob have cheese on toast or similar. Might make lentil dhal actually if I can be bothered.

Glad the car was sorted :)

I like Lidl too, they have some really nice stuff!

Hope May is better soon and you manage to relax a bit this weekend.

So yesterday I made lentil dhal and I managed to get all of the washing done, apart from the bedding. The weather is good so I’m hoping to get them all done today. Really really need to sort the spare room. We’ve got rid of the mattress but I need to take a photo of the bed to sell, then get it out of the room. But at present I can’t even see the floor. I have alllllllll of the washing to sort and put away.
  • Hi @missymoo81, hope May is feeling better soon. Good plan on the spare bedroom. Wish I had one of those. The room my partner and I use for a home office is bulging and we really could do with extra space it's just not an option atm. So instead I'm looking for storage options in a limited space. How was back to school for the kids? Mine very happy to be back and the youngest absolutely no problems settling in. Definitely a good sign!
