Just worked a 13 hour day, am exhausted, just sat down. Ate left over stew, children loved the left over tuna pasta, did my extra hour tonight, hoping they’ll buy another block for £100 next week. Haven’t achieved much, had to spend £15 on lunch as had to feed work crew and OH had his card. Noticed a huge scratch on the back of my car, Not happy. I need sleep. just going to curl
up on OH now.1 -
Need a good talking to today, this is where I usually fall off the wagon and say whatever. I don’t know why I feel this way, I think it’s because my pots are out as I had to spend my own money on non home stuff yesterday And I can’t get that back, and I’m super tired. I can’t find my motivation to do surveys either. But I really need to pull my socks up and reset, and look at why I started, We need to afford this house!!!!So trying to carry on as normal, children have toast for breakfast and have just made them a packed lunch. I’ll prob have porridge with OH after the class. I’ll get OH and all the work crew meal deals at lunch, I’ll take something in for me. Going to be an epically busy day. Hoping to have tonight off but I’m doubting it. Dinner tonight..... probably curry I think, just quick and easy, and the children will probably have pita bread smiley face pizzas.
May made her own toast with help this morning, and bless Roo he cleaned May’s feet yesterday in the bath/shower when they got grubby outside. They’re so cute together. I feel awful that I’m not being able to spend much time with the children. But every morning I sit and watch a film with them, and I’m not able to home school at the moment due to work load, but they’re spending their time reading, Roo is currently drawing dragons and May is building Lego.1 -
@Missymoo you are doing so well with all those balls in the air - you can do it just keep going. Its friday and maybe today you need to give yourself a bit of self care and a pat on the back for what you have achieved and try not to worry about what you can't control.
Home schooling is a nightmare tbh, I had a bit of a rant to my sons teacher last week because my eldest attitude was awful. She was lovely about it which has made me feel a lot better so honestly watch away and enjoy your films. Its actually amazing what information they gain from tv and films. My two have been coming out with allsorts.

Hi @missymoo81 I think everything always feels harder to stay on top of when you're tired and you must be exhausted will everything you've got going on! Keep going with the basics then you can get more on top of things another day when you feel better.
I'm so impressed by your eBay sales btw, great work.Mortgage December 2023: TBC

Missymoo, yours are little from memory and at this time of the year they would be doing sports day/end of term/watching films at school. Stop beating yourself up.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hey it’s Saturday! Hopefully working a half day today. Yesterday was another horrendously busy day, OH was super grumpy. It’s really hard not to take the stress out on eachother. He did apologise but I’m still A bit sad about it.
Sat with the children watching The Lorax. Going to make cereal in a minute. Made a curry from scratch with the butternut and chicken thighs Last night, cooked the chicken thighs whole this time and was much easier getting the meat off.
Had an unexpected final Barclaycard bill come out yesterday, so need to find another £33! Will make it up with the eBay money the listings end tomorrow.Got class at work this morning, then more people are dropping stuff off and then we’ve got to go and pick up some things then we need to go and have a look at a business van for OH, as Current one is absolutely on its last legs and the garage said it would cost a fortune to get it through it’s MOT. Just to add that into the mix!1 -
Clarissa, redo and magiccat thank you so much for your lovely comments, I’m going to try and find some time over the weekend to chill out.3

For little ones, play is far more important - you aren’t going to be able to replicate school at home, it just isn’t possible, but they do learn so much through things like lego, playing outside, drawing, reading etc. All that is so educational for them so don’t beat yourself up. They are learning all day long and through playing with each other they learn social skills, through playing on their own they learn independence and resilience, through drawing they learn creative self expression, through building Lego they learn maths & engineering, through reading they can learn anything (plus how to read obviously). They can learn problem solving and conflict resolution and all sorts of other concepts through play and not to mention, they are probably moving their bodies more right now instead of being at a desk all day at school, which is so important for these health, so I promise this time is beneficial to them even if you aren’t getting the workbooks etc done. Remember they also learn about life and caring for a home and how adults work for money by watching what you are doing every day. In this country I think we start kids at school too young and have too much of a focus on academic subjects for little ones. Thanks so much BlueGreen, really appreciate your comments, and of course you’re right, they’re probably learning more this I think, and they are only young as Redo said. Thank you.
Thanks Clarissa, I used to love Babe! I don’t think my children have seen it! I’m going to have a look for it on Netflix!
so eBay is up to £115.50, so can get my boots, just need another £33 to pay for the unexpected Barclays bill, ideally another £15 on top of that to pay for the food I had to buy for the crew the other day. So If I can get another £48 I’ll be happy but obv that’s quite steep so we’ll see.
