My 4 year old WM sounded like it was packing up the other day - the local independent repair guy came out and fixed if for £45. He's also quoted for replacing the offending part if/when it needs replacing, which is significantly less than a new machine would cost. My last one was 17 years old and I probably would have put off replacing it for another year or so if I hadn't been sorting out the utility room at the time.

Ok! So managed to get the washing machine fixed for £83. More than I wanted but still. And I’ve managed to get a new client! She wants 3 sessions a week which is an extra £120 a week! And an old client of mine would like to start back twice a week so that’s another £50 a week, so things are looking up!

Just at the hospital with a friend at the moment. Had to drive the 1.5 hours there and will have to drive back very shortly. Need to pick up May from a party at 5.30. No idea what we’re doing for dinner. We have bbq stuff so maybe that will be used up.

Can’t wait to just chill out tonight. Oh and do copious amounts of washing of course.
  • Great news on getting the washing machine fixed and increasing your income.

I am sure your friend is very grateful that you have been able to accompany them to the hospital.

Great news about the washing machine and the clients!

  • Thanks Lovelies, I’ve had two more small wins today. Roo had his first piano lesson today and his teacher said he needed to practice every day. Then OH remembered he had keyboard from when he was a boy, in his brothers loft! It works and is perfect and OH and BIL had a wonderful time reminiscing and play all the buttons! I remember doing the same thing in music lessons at school!

Secondly I managed to pre order something for Roo for Xmas that he desperately wants but was sold out and twice the price everywhere else. So I should be getting that delivered in October.

Just doing my sums and I might actually break even this month!

Everything has gone to pot. OH is stuck in London with no fuel he’s been working London and is doing today and tomorrow so has accommodation. But he was due to commute home tonight as I haven’t seen him, and then he was going to go back again tomorrow but that can’t happen now.

So grateful I managed to fill up the car last night, as was driving on fumes also managed to have the forethought to fill up a Jerry can for OH so I can go and rescue him! But Its pointless going to get him today. I’m going to meet him as far as his petrol will get him tomorrow and fill up his motorbike! Wasting my fuel and several hours in the process though and my only day off. He’s tried 6 different garages! Such an absolutely ridiculous situation. Couldn’t be more cross at people right now!

Because I had to get fuel and OH had the business card I’ve spent £102 I didn’t have! So they’ll be no money for the clothes budget or premium bonds this month. I was doing so well!

In other news, I’ve been to Lidl on the way home from work as trying to conserve fuel and do things when I pass them. Spent £20, but think I’ve got enough for the week bar cat food which they’d sold out of I did get free coffee though and I’ve spent £100 this month so
have just got my £2 coupon which I’ll try and get cat food with.

    Will cook:
    chilli x 2
    Bolognese x 1
    Fajitas x 1
    curry x 2
    stew x 2

Need to look at budgets and see what I can work out.

With you on the raging ridiculous petrol situation, my light has just come on and I have a 100 mile drive tomorrow but can't find petrol. So stupid.

Sounds like a good menu for the week, it's the only thing I like about colder time of year, good hearty meals!

    Hey!

I am here! Life has just been busy. I’m currently sorting the house and tidying, just doing my clothes in the spare room. Then will sort the children clothes and then the play room and I will call it a day.
I don’t want to be doing this much later than 7-8pm so we’ll see how I do.

will update money etc tonight too.
