@WinterWarrior they were delicious. Ok so day 4 of the summer holidays. Today we’re at the park, then we’re going home for lunch, then we’re going to meet OH in the city and go on a treasure hunt trail, the only expense will be parking and Ice creams which is ok.

How much will the ice creams and parking be? Will the survey money cover it?

Could you challenge yourself to make as much of the school holiday costs be covered by surveys etc so they are budget neutral?

Ok trying to regain a little control. I have grabbed some fruit and veg today although alas I forgot the milk. So will have to pop to the coop later. I’ve managed to get 3 loads of washing on the line, have the bed clothes in the washing machine at the moment. I fully cleaned the litter tray, sorted all the washing (still need to put it away though), I’ve emptied both bins, done the dishwasher and had a little tidy up and swept the floor.

Have also menu planned for the week, will need to get some shopping but minimal. I’ve just gone through the change and I have £15, so that is the goal. I’ve just put all prices in Tesco and I should be ok just about.

hmm have just realised I need cat food and washing powder too. So going to scout around OHs bag and pockets and find some more!

    So menu plan

    breakfast: toast, cereal or porridge

lunch: children- sandwiches, yogs, hm cake, fruit
    OH- toasties, crisps, choc bar
    Me- toastie, cake

    Snacks: banana bread, fruit

    dinner:
Sun- tbc - to be honest no idea
    Mon- Out
    Tue- curry
    Wed- stew
    Thur- stew
    Fri- Omlette
    Sat- carbonara
    Sun- chicken curry

Have just emailed with regards to a £12 refund I should be getting, need you get an invoice out for £75 too.

Just been to the coop for milk. There wasn’t much reduced which is a shame. Cobbled together 90p from the car to pay. Did find another £5 in OHs bag so going to make the total for shopping £20. it’s coming in at £20.51 on Tesco, but I’m hoping lidl is cheaper. Going to venture to the new one tomorrow, it opened a couple of days ago, so a tiny bit excited.

I'm not feeling great, really tired and run down. I know it’s because we’ve been super busy and I haven’t had a chance to rest and I’ve not eaten very much today, but still annoying.

Have put all the chicken in the oven as I froze it in one big lump in the packet. It was either that or have it go off in the fridge as I was running out of the door when I realised it was likely to go off. So we’re having a Maggi bag thing tonight as I stocked up ages ago when they were 50p. I’ve used about a small chicken breast less than usual but more potato. I’m not bothered about the chicken so I’ll just pick all the protein out for OH to have as I’ll happily have the potato. Going to give OH sweetcorn and I’ll have the half tin of beans that’s languishing in the fridge.

Don’t know what I was thinking with my meal plan.

I only have 3 chicken breasts left once dinner is sorted tonight. I don’t know why I’ve written curry twice either. And I’ve cooked the chicken already so can’t stew it! So back to the drawing board for me!

Ok so edited and modified meal plan
    dinner:
    Sun- chicken in a bag
Mon- Out at dads for dinner
    Tue- tuna and bean jackets
Wed- chicken, mash, veg and gravy
Thur- still thinking….. I have 2 small salmon fillets in the freezer…. Any ideas? We’ve got pasta and potatoes a lot this week……
    Fri- Omelette
    Sat- carbonara
Sun- chicken and chick pea curry

I hope you’re all having a great Sunday!

I like salmon just cooked in foil with a lump of butter. We have sticky veg rice instead of pasta or potatoes sometimes…all it is is chopped onion, mushroom and frozen peas done in the frying pan with a couple of chicken or veg stock cubes and a small amount of water and then mixed through cooked rice. More liquid gives a risotto type stickiness and less liquid leaves it less gloopy, but with plenty of flavour, so I boil it down a bit before mixing in. Serve it in a dish with fish or chicken on top.
    The menu looks good 😋

Thanks so much @WinterWarrior. Your ideas made me think, and I’m going to do Teriyaki salmon and rice! Perfect thank you for the inspiration!

Morning, well just afternoon! Ive washed the children’s bedding and hung it on the line. And I’ve just been to lidl, had a lovely time with the children, May had the trolley and list and Roo had the calculator. Came to £20.75. Got so much for our money.

    We got:
    bread x 3
    1kg cheese
    kids yoghurts
    ham
    tampons
    grapes
    washing powder
    Kids shower gel
    biscuits
    cat food
    milk x 2
    Bananas x 7
    crisps x 6
    fake snicker bars x 6
    kids toothpaste

will def need more milk but will get OH to get that.

Going bowling later, so expensive. Going to find cheaper things to do for the rest of the week.

Happy with the shopping, and have made £1.25 on surveys today.

In future could your meal plan include breakfasts and lunches, OH could say what breakfasts he is going to eat over the period the shopping list covers but he doesn't need to decide which day.

When OH is picking up the extra milk can he also get eggs and cheese, if finances allow.
