Payslips whilst on furlough

Hello I’m hoping someone can shed some light for me. I’ve been furloughed at 80% of my wage. I work in a pub so no chance of part time of going back until the gov says so. I’ve been paid for 5 weeks and today I received a payment for only two weeks or so my boss thinks it is. Is this how they are working it. So my 5 weeks pay was from 23rd March until 30th April. Then apparently what I received today is maybe for two weeks? I’ve asked my boss for wage slips and she’s told me HMRC aren’t issuing wage slips for furlough as they’d have 7.5 million to do and can’t?? I’m confused as I’m sure her accountant normally put them together and she prints them off. Just don’t seem to be getting any info from her. Staff are having to message and ask what they’ve been paid for. She doesn’t tell us we’ve bin paid or how many weeks etc it’s for. It’s only a small pub will only 10 staff

HMRC will not be producing anybodies payslip as they are not personally paying anybody. The employer pays you as normal and then claim it back for the government. Although the money comes from the government they are not putting it into your bank.0

Ok thank you for your reply. Yes my boss is paying me from her personal account not the normal business name it comes from. Unsure if I need to show payslips for anything now how I can prove my earnings. She is waiting for the money to be deposited before paying us. She said she doesn’t have the funds to pay us then claim back

She should be familiar enough by now to make the claim in good enough time to receive the money from HMRC in time to pay you on your usual pay date. She (or her accountant) should run payroll as usual (reduced to whatever pay you agreed, which must be at least 80% of your reference salary) and you should get a payslip as usual. Log on to your personal tax account and see what she says she's been paying you.2

I suggest you tell her the figures and ask why she has said you have been paid when you haven't. I don't know if you claim benefits, but if you claim universal credit, errors in reporting wages can affect what you receive.1

I’m going to try web chat with HMRC tomorrow and tell them I believe she’s being dishonest and not paying us what she’s telling them we’re supposed to be getting per week which is the figure shown on my tax account. And see what happens from there

I just wanted to say well done you, for fighting her.
My furloughed main employer pretty much mirrors you but I’m just over 1k short now according to tax records/weeks on furlough.
I know if I complain now I will just get notice so I’m trying to ride it in the hope payments catch up or I will have no option but to hit that HRMC report button.1 -
If you are currently receiving working tax credit, I should mention that if you thought about starting a claim for universal credit, it would stop your tax credit claim forever, and you might receive less as a result.
You have a contract of employment that sets out what you should be paid. That may have been amended when you agreed to be furloughed. I assume you did agree to be furloughed? You said your pay was reduced to 80% of what it was. That is the minimum she can pay you. What she then reclaims from HMRC is her affair, except that she has to pay you all the money she claims in respect of your net wage. She should pay that 80% on the normal pay date. If she doesn't, she is probably making an unlawful deduction from wages.
How much you protest is for you to decide. She doesn't have to furlough you. She could just make you redundant. That might cost her redundancy pay if you have been employed by her for more than two years.0 -

Forgot to add we’re normally paid weekly on a Friday. Last pay before today was 30th April which was 5 weeks pay, received today was only 2 weeks pay or so she said she thinks it’s two weeks?? Surely if she’s inputting the RTI then she would know . She’s said she doesn’t Know when she gets the money she has to wait and see when it goes in the bank0
