Morning all,
I love reading about everyone's veg growing - this is my first year as it's our first with a proper garden. Most things are going well except I the courgette leaves have turned yellow over nightany advice is welcome!
Today's list:
- plant plants bought in Sains yesterday, managed to get strawberry ones too
- b/l/d all from stores (overnight oats, jp & home made hummus & home made pizza)
- weigh
- trying to do as much work as possible away from screen today as I have a headache
- finally sew skirt that I cut before Christmas
Hope you have a happy Wednesday!

Morning allThanks @Narola1976 and @carrielovesfanta I do feel much better this morning. I had a really early night, slept well, and didn't wake till 6, which is late for me. I have been quite productive this morning:Walked dogManaged to book an as*a delivery. 6am or thereabouts is the ideal time for this! Not till 10 June, but I can manage with Icyland till then.Picked up all the clippings after OH cut the hedge, now all in compost bin - the clippings, not OH. Swept the path.Made hummus for lunchCut salad leaves, picked broad beans and radishes, found more 'wild' potatoes
'Veg' patch (which also contains flowers and fruit trees) is a bit tidier now. I sowed some coriander and rocket seeds in a little space where I had dug out a volunteer potato, and planted a marigold seedling in another. Then I planted some more basil seedlings in the biggish pot the marigold had been in
Idea is to grow a small plantation of basil in the greenhouse.
Later I need to water whatever needs it, find more containers for basil seedlings and do a bit of cleaning - there is plenty to choose from!Dinner will be cold chicken, new potatoes, broad beans and salad.Hope everyone has a nice day5 -

Afternoon. Scorching here but cool breeze, perfect. Pity I have to be at work! Today:
- -walk in the woods - free exercise :-)
- -all meals from stores. Just as well as I spent yet another £100 on Tesco. I have honestly never spent so much on shopping as I am now. Are prices really so high?? Have I just lost my mind??
- -lunch includes radishes I grew myself! Planted since lockdown started and now perfect!
- -check banks and check when payday is :-)
- -check all mini pots of savings for Xmas , holiday etc. Not much in them but better than the nothing I usually save in advance.
- -look at holiday for August. I have something booked but it's still free to cancel - if I spot something with a better space for the dog I'll swap it.
- -browse eBay for possible funeral wear. This might seem morbid but I am expecting to need it and would rather not just wear work clothes, the only things I have which are black. Am I being silly? Probably. But it gives me something slightly practical to do when we can't do anything else to help. Must try not to fall into Ebay rabbit hole. I rarely buy new clothes but love getting Next/Clarks etc stuff for a couple of quid.

PS Now I can see the debt reducing month on month I feel so motivated! 2022 does not seem so far away! I can still do even better but 5 whole months without touching a credit card is a massive achievement for me :-)

That is a fantastic achievementFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Morning all, sounds like you had a productive day yesterday. Me not so much. Worked most of the day and an extra 2.5 hours to finish a piece of work off. Shame they don’t pay overtime. I get time back in lieu in theory. So I will probably finish an hour earlier today. There are some advantages to working from home
So today:
Checked bank - happy to see salary is due to be paid tomorrow. I saw that I was being paid an extra £23.16 so I had such fun updating YNAB in 5p increments.
B/L/D from stores - spaghetti bolognese for supper.
Tidy utility room
Oh yes, work of course
A very great achievement @TryingAgain2022. It’s been 7 months for me.

Morning allCongrats on the debt reductions, it feels so good doesn't it? I've not been in debt for some years now, but still remember the feeling when it started to go down. Hot day forecast again today, and no rain forecast for the foreseeable future apparently. Hope we aren't headed for drought on top of everything else. The threat of fires worries me too, the grass and hedges in this area haven't been cut since the lockdown began, and are very overgrown. They are still pretty green at the moment, but might look different in a month's time. Anyway, today:Usual early dog walk (Done)Strain stock off chicken bones and veg bits, for a risotto tonight. Scrape any little meat bits off the bones for the dog, as that is his favourite thing. He is very small, so a tablespoonful with some of his biscuit stuff is a meal for him.Peg out washing that I did yesterday eveningTake net curtain in bedroom down, wash and dry it and put it back up. I hate net curtains, and only have this one because the bedroom overlooks the road.More cleaning (there is always more cleaning
)
Icyland delivery expected this morning, must update spreadsheetLook for more containers to plant basil seedlings inWater anything in the garden that needs itDinner will be mushroom risotto, and I think there are still a couple of slices of chicken meat in the fridge that will do for wraps for lunch
