What small DFW things will you do w/c 25th May?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks! Yes it really is Monday and a bank holiday to boot - honest 🤣 it’s even sunny here!My list for today:
get last 2 loads of washing done from doing the beds and bathroom yesterday and peg out
make chicken pie we didn’t have yesterday for tea
painting a little bit more
plant out a few plants and water everything
triage fridge
cancel an auto order I don’t need for next month having checked stock levels
knit later
have a good day all. Purps.6 -
Morning allThanks for starting the new thread Purps. I had forgotten it was Monday, every day seems the same. I have already walked and fed the dog, read the headlines online and had breakfast, now on my second coffee. Once that is finished I need to:Wash my annoying hair and leave it to dry naturally. I reckon I have missed 2 haircuts now. It seems really long and straggly
I keep it tied back and try not to think about it.
Clean up the kitchenSome dusting needs doingWater front garden pots and whatever needs it in the back gardenDead head the climbing roseSort out some peas that need protecting from pesky pigeonsUpdate my spreadsheet as I had an As*a delivery yesterday and haven't added it yetFinish off tomato soup for lunchCook a chicken later for dinnerThat'll do! Hope everyone has a nice day - it is nice and sunny here.5 -
Morning all,
The start of another week already! My small DFW things for this week:
1. Continue to monitor energy bills whilst staying at home. Doing pretty well with gas and electricity but water seems high! Doing what we can to keep that down.
2. Get more surveys done this week. Bank holiday today so got a bit of time again.
3. We’re in the process of clearing out our “spare room” so may end up putting a couple of items of furniture up for sale and see what money we can get for them.4. Bit of work to do today in the home and garden before returning to work (from my dining room table!) tomorrow!5. Need to sort meal plans out for the week which I’ll do today.Have a good week all!

Morning everyone.
Just never got chance to post last week, it went so fast! Im really losing track of the days.
Still in full lockdown here.
Alot of zoom meetings last week. I can only do so many as i find it just hurts my eyes and u concentrating differently.
DD has gone to pack up the last of her flat and having a few problems. I think someone asked last week what she has planned to do, there is a couple of things but she will need to move for work but in the current situation everything is up in the air.
We finally have a nice day today so
*washing out
*more diy touch ups. Was doing really well and then other things took over
*really must do a piece of paperwork i have really really been putting off.
*update spends book
*cat cleaning
*flick the duster about
*pull out some Christmas beef casserole for tea tonight
*clean and steam the kitchen floor. The cats have trashed it.
If i get everything done it will be a miracle, alot is a carry over from yesterday as i really didnt get alot done!
Have a great bank holiday everyone x

Morning a later start than usual today. I actually woke at 7am not my usual 6am. Bliss! Started the morning with my coffee and watching a video on how to self inject some new medication. Wasn’t too bad.
I am pleased to report that I did indeed pack the washing away yesterday, all 3 baskets! And I cleaned the kitchen and left a shiny sink, only to come down this morning to see DD had made a snack late at night and there were dishes on the counter and in the sink. We shall have words when she gets up
Today’s jobs:
Check banking and budget - Done. Very interesting thing. I had read on the forum a few minutes ago, someone say to pay £1 more than the minimum to avoid a minimum payment marker. I did not know there was such a thing. But anyway, I dutifully amended my snowball app, to add what in effect was an additional £4 to the snowball amount and you know what, it brought to the DFD down by one month! A whole month for an extra 4 quid. I am so chuffed.
B/L/D from stores
Tidy bathroom
Pop to Mr. Aldee for salad fixings. I am aiming to get back on the healthy eating horse - my sugars are way out of control. But that is all I am buying, I promise

Morning all!
Happy bank holiday!
Thanks to @PurpleFairy26 for starting us off.
@Happy_Kitties that's a good list! Hope your DD's flat stuff gets sorted as easily as possible
Feeling a bit mah this morning as had a disturbed night. I get bad period pains so I didn't properly get to bed until about half 3. Still, I think I have had about 7 hours overall so shouldn't be too bad
Would you believe, OH is getting so desparate for a haircut, that he asked me to go at it last night! I have been banned from touching his hair ever since I took a square chunk out from behind each ear about 12 years ago
I don't actually have any suitable scissors. The choice was between the kitchen scissors and my dressmaking scissors. I chose the latter for sharpness. Now I've seen the expression on the face of any barber faced with OH's hair. It's a mixture of shock, horror, sadness and resignation. His hair is coarse, wavy, thick, and there's lots of it. I just went for an approach of trimming round his ears, tidying his neck line, and taking about an inch off the top-front. It looked ok once dried so I'm quite proud of myself!
Well assuming that all goes to plan, today is my last week off work! I need to make sure that I have my brain and the house in order, so I'm going to gradually bring my alarm down to the time I want to get up, and start sharpening up my morning routine.
MSE things:B/L/D from stores
Eat healthily and put food into mfp to keep me focussed
Tidy up the garden - the windy weather brought a lot of leaves down. - done
Get OH up ladder to clear the gutter - done
Poss go to the allotment and carry on digging up weeds. - too hot for digging Will bring a bucket of weeds back for disposal in our bin (bonfires still banned dt covid - although, perhaps if I told them I was using my best instincts by lighting it, I could get away with it?)
Planted up the hanging basket at the front and spruced it up a bit
Have a good one all

Morning all,
I love Bank Holiday Monday! Wasn't a fan of the Friday the other week, didn't seem so exciting. We were meant to be away for the weekend (and I was away for the next 3 as well :0) so I'm just keeping the holiday money in the pots that they were saved into and thinking that I'll spend them next year.
Today's list:
- dry towels on line
- DH is finishing the second bench he's made out of pallets. He's even managed to make the legs which has saved us about £70. Free furniture is awesome.
- I've seen some tea light holders that I like online and I'm sure I can make them so going to give that a go
- B/L/D from stores as always
Have a sunny day all,
