meandthe hope you are feeling ok now
kaz - keeping fingers crossed, very mysterious
valli - nightmare re hen! I'd have totally freaked! Hope you are enjoying Downton, I loved it
I had a lovely afternoon round my friend's drinking Pimms in the sunshine socially distanced of course! Didn't make t to the garden centre, and lots of unfinished jobs on my list. So tomorrow looks like this so far:
- unload DW
- Finish big cardboard sort out
- phone doctor re DS
- activate new credit card
- trip to garden centre
- cook lunch
- clear up from lunch
- sort out card protection stuff
- cook tea
- clean up from tea
- do some bear crocheting
My Dr phonecall is a complete pain. Very long story short we had DS seen privately as he is suffering badly with depression and NHS weren't cutting it. He got prescribed tablets (he's nearly 17 and 6ft so practically an adult) after an initital zoom consultation with him, me and Dr, and then a follow up zoom with just me to confirm we wanted the tablets - DS refused to get out of bed for that one. And we've made a 3rd appointment for review in a month. Got the tablets. DS now refusing to take them. Nothing I say can convince him. Even though he told the Dr he was happy to take them. So I have to arrange yet another appointment with the Dr to discuss the medication again to see if DS can be convinced, and need to probably cancel the review one we've got. So I phoned them this morning, left a message, and of course when they phoned back I missed the call so now I have to phone them again. And I am phone-phobic waaaaahhhhh ... breathe Jill breathe9 -
Evening all
I managed my list plus I also did some jobs from all levels on the list after the paid stuff. DH and I also spent about 40 mins or so outside clearing the side of the house, it’s only a small strip of land and it doesn’t really get used as it’s just a border for a shared driveway, we had some conifer trees taken away from there last year and it’s a bit messy so I am trying to come up with a creative solution for it that won’t cost much. First stage of the plan was to clear out the old wood chips, gravel and assorted crud. We did that this evening and it already looks much better. Stage 2 will be to see if I can get rid of the tree roots, that might have to involve getting someone with the necessary tools and muscle power but we shall see.
Supper now done and kitchen has been reset, wm loaded ready for tomorrow and I’m going to flump with my book, I think I deserve it today!
Hugs, fingers crossed, GWS vibes etc etc xx8 -
Everything crossed for Kazwookie.
I spent the morning planting my tomatoes in their big pots. They are good strong plantsI didn't have time to deal with the water butts.
This afternoon I went to the pharmacy for DH and PO for a Flylady
Afterwards DH drove us to our local, family-fun GC, which has just received an accolade from the local council for their social distancing arrangements. Got a trolley full of plants, most of them for the difficult back border, and three pots to replace some old ones that got frosted and were falling apart. This evening I have moved the plants from the old pots to the new ones, so that I can dispose of the broken pots when I go to the tip on Thursday.
Now I am watching "A House through Time" and not expecting to stay up late!!!
Tomorrow I will begin by hanging out the two loads of washing that were done today.7 -
Fingers and toes firmly crossed for you, Kaz.I seem to have spent much of the evening watching water trickle at a pathetically slow rate from the water butts into various watering cans. I think I can safely say that all the water butts are now empty 😢. Looking at the forecast, there is no sign of rain in the near future.
Dinner cooked, WULTD, dw run, bedding changed so that it can wash first thing and DH can hang it out whilst I go to work. Pack up done for tomorrow. MAD HH in the back garden to plant a few of the very leggy flower babies. Long phone calls had with DH’s uncle and with my DSis. Birthday cards still not made, and I don’t even have any inspiration to get started. Tomorrow night’s job, methinks.8 -

4 years down the line we managed to have this discussion..one of the 'joys' of them growing up sadly we can't protect them from themselves. Be strong my lovely and just make sure he knows you are there and he is loved unconditionally and he has never been and never will be a burden.

Well my day didn't quite go according to plan.. we broke laws on so many levels! lol..
Dw x2
OH sent to shop
Twinkle had an allergic reaction to something.. not as bad as the one Pixie had a few months ago which was a bit scary but bad enough to warrant several doses of piriton.. and then Dot had a reaction to somethin gtoo so both had bright red itchy faces and ears!
Door got undercoated and I will gloss it tomorrow.
Ordered OH a cotton tshirt for our wedding anniversary on Friday.
I offloaded 10L of paint and 2 cartons of long life milk on my sister, 7 dead towels on my mother and a carrier of food, mainly cake ingredients and kidney beans and a bag of baby blankets and clothing bits and 3 books on DD1.. oh she also got a car track which Jazzles LOVES. I've had a day of flinging once again it appears!
I wrote up some educational stuff for the girls.. Dot is still refusing to do school stuff but I have an exercise book and she is working on a page of maths, a page of writing and tomorrow we introduce a page of egyptians which requires reading a whole 10 pages of a book.. I am gradually increasing the amount she does and it appears to me working. Twinkle also wanted work so she is practising her name and number writing and the Pixie wanted some too so she is working on times tables and writing/spelling We are moving forwards finally! This is a huge leap for Dot. She has had a very bad day today, 3 meltdowns and I am teaching OH how to calm her rather than making a situation escalate to a full out war.. She can, it appears, be reasoned with and talked down if it hasn't gone too far.
I have a binbag of school clothes to donate to the councillor who organises school clothes for anyone who is in need.. they are allowed 4 items per child free of charge.. it saves a lot of people a lot of money and saves a lot of waste.
Wednesdays list of tasks..
Paint and rehang door.
sort and pair 2 baskets of socks.. I have 5 wash baskets, 2.5 are full of odd socks.. what can not be paired is getting binned.. I will have order!!!binbag of clothes to drop off at sisters friends.. more flinging!
I would like to tidy the front room but I shall delegate that to OH or offspring .. I had a bit of a rage today about people doing nothing.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -
Fully paid up member of the wide awake club checking in. Please, Mr Sandman, come and visit me soon! Too early to start doing jobs so I’ll lay here and contemplate my day x8
-
Morning asb - you are not alone. I was woken by an over zealous blackbird! Too early and chilly for me to go out in the garden so I am sitting in bed with a cuppa and watching another beautiful sunrise. If I drop off again, so be it.
Last night I updated my list of jobs and realised that I have several phone calls to make and emails to write today: in particular, I must phone s-i-l (aged 92 and normally very active) and check birthdays: I'm losing track of the date! And DH needs to sort his meds.8 -
Morning all
Another wide awake club member checking in, I lay in bed for an hour or so trying to go back off but have given up now, I was intending to get up at 6 as I have an early work meeting but clearly my brain had other ideas and wanted to wake me at 4!!
Even though I’m up and about it’s a little early to start jobs.. I will shower shortly in the upstairs bathroom to avoid disturbing DH then it should be a more reasonable time to start my dailies etc.
Have a good one all, back later xx8 -
Early bird here too...fed up with it to be honest! I get tired mid-afternoon and daren't sit down or I nod off!
Yesterday was a write off due to my hangover. I did sell 6 chickens to a friend who has been desperate for some for months and answered an enquiry about doggy daycare as it seems more people are going back to work, but I just pottered and flopped most of the day....poor me....serves me right!
Fingers and toes crossed Kaz....
I'll check the list and crack on once I've turfed DH out of bed. He's agreed to help at one of the branches today and tomorrow so needs to get moving!
TTFN x8
