Sometimes - in gardens, you have to be brutal. I don't know but I would CLIP it to how I wanted it. If it thriives it stayes if it dies it goes.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

jimali, Yes I would cut it back, but it may not flower this year, make sure you water it after you have cut it as it will be in shock.Walked on the beach, tide is going out, it is busy down there, several of the ice cream shops / fish chip shops have opened, finally I hope they make some money, but the toilets are generally shut in the area, and I really do worry over social distancing etc, so I'm in for the day now.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

So as anticipated, the morning was spent at the allotment, but more planting and pottering than strenuous digging, which made a change. There was just me and one other allotment holder, so it was very peaceful.
Lunch in the garden was a baked camembert that had been lurking in the freezer and was outed as part of my freezer shuffle. Although I was very tempted to stay put in the garden, I did shift myself to s&s the bathrooms and kitchen. Then I decided it would be a good idea to spatchcock the chicken that is for dinner - not sure where that idea came from or why! Anyway, said chicken is now marinading. Pudding will be gooseberries that were also evicted from the freezer. I am now going to take a cookery book into the garden to flick through and try to ignore that I have pots to plant up.7 -
today OH wire brushed the bay ready to be revarnished. aaaand... yeah that's it.. oh.. went to shop for bread and milk. oops.. He scrubbed all the paintwork in the toilet.. after dinner he has a DW to load and girls to wash.
I hung out the washing and put a load in .. then sorted 2 chests of drawers, added a few bits for sisters friend and half a dozen bit for DD1's house. I then undercoated the clean paintwork.. then had OH take the door outside where I stripped the paint off it.. that was the best fun!!! I'm scoffing dinner (salad and sea bass) then I have a box of fleece onesies to sort.. I have a small burn on my boob where a tiny bit of hot paint flipped in the air and stuck to me... ouch was what I said..
Food finished.. so onesie box sorting for me and then I am silvering my paintwork!! The door is going to be grey.
My toilet will be beautiful!

It will be incentive to get out of bed in the morning.. sand a door... undercoat a door.. paint a door.. sand and paint again.. rehang door. .. should be done by dinner time right?!! lol
Next job after that is stripping wallpaper and stripping paint off dado and skirtings where is it 130 years thick and chips really badly.
Might hang out washing first.. I washed DS2's... his is ALWAYS rank.. itis the first time it has been brought down this year I think.. maybe the second and it was ONE wash load.. ONE!!
School shirts and cardigans are added tomy shopping list.. Squeak stretched!!

Belated thanks for the lists, I am in. I am only just getting back to my usual energy levels, having felt rotten for 10 days now, D&V etc its been awful. We got out on a sunny bike ride and had a picnic today which was lovely. Line dried a load of washing, cooked a spag bolognese in the slow cooker and now I'm in bed. Tomorrow I have a click and collect order to fetch, the dog is going to the groomers for a very long overdue haircut and, of course, the children will be with me so I hope their behaviour is good (they've been absolutely wonderful today, and it's been a while since I have been able to say that, their preferred way to spend lockdown has been bickering!)
Sending hugs to all especially Narco, YL, Natty and anyone else who wants one xx I'm off to escape to Hogwarts and pretend things are easier! X9 -

Ironing almost all done - stopped when maiden full. Started front of DD's top. Im loving the cottong I'm knotting with. DD has sent me link to TopShop feature on knitted summer tops so I'm guessing she's looking forward to this top being finished.

I'm in for the rest of the week. Thank you for the lists...they really are appreciated xx
Busy weekend. DD finished her last uni exams so we had a pub crawl at home which was a lot of fun. Very strange for her though...not sure what she'll do now.
Hope everyone is keeping as well and as sane as possible xx10 -
I am finally checking in again!
Not much has been achieved today....
I did the food shop at Mr S. I looked for shorts, but they didnt have anything suitable and/or in my size. I checked out the menswear and ended up getting 2 pairs of shorts (like jogging bottoms, but shorts). They are ok, and very comfy. They will be my summer joggers, so I will be living in them from now on! 😂
After lunch we showed our face at the neighbours 'socially distanced social', but didnt have any BBQ. DS cut DD2's BF's hair - it looks quite good! I walked the dog. DH fixed the greenhouse to the base, and I have put an aubergine & a tomato in it 😊
Tonight I managed to read the government guidance and water the garden.
Tomorrow DS & DH are back to work, so I hope to crack on and get the house in order.
Night night all! See you in the morning!10
