Oh wow, well having no credit is really great! I am guessing your broker said it wouldn't be an issue? I have often heard that although having no credit is great, it can also prove tricky to get loans, credit cards, mortgages etc as they have no track record of you being able to pay back money you owe on a regular basis....very jealous you have no credit though! I used part of my savings to pay off my hire car purchase as I didn't want the outstanding credit in prep for when I wanted a house. I only have £300 outstanding on the only credit card I own and my broker laughed at me when I asked if this would stop me from being successful for a mortgage! Thank god for that!
Now you have explained your own experience regarding tax credits, I think I am going to ring them tomorrow to get one. Have logged in to HMRC but I cannot find anything that allows me to request an up to date one. Only options this time of year are for declaring that nothing has changed financially in the last year so 2020-2021 tax year payments are correct. THANK YOUUU FOR PUSHING ME TO DO THIS!! Fingers crossed I dont need to use it but better to have and not use than need but not have!!!Debt Remaining: £8,781.53

There is no function to order one online, however, if you log on tomorrow between I think it’s 9-4, you can chat to an advisor online instead of on the phone, so maybe simpler for you, as phone lines can be busy.Have you received your renewal pack?FTB-

Yes I received my renewal pack a few weeks ago, but the amount earned for 2019-2020 tax year is not the same as what I will earn in 2020-2021 but the movement is less than the amount by which you have to disclose. Fingers crossed it can be overlooked as my broker said, but now I know what happened to you its better being safe rather than sorry. I just hope it arrives as quickly as yours did!!Debt Remaining: £8,781.53

Hey guys. Sounds like a lot to take on! Jumping on this thread and hopefully I will learn a bit.....FTB here and looking at putting a bid in for a house that I like.....hopefully viewings start again and I can go and see the property in question

Good luck, FTBs! I was in your shoes seven months ago - buying alone (and in London), not to mention the fact that all of my family is in Australia so couldn't even actively support me through the process. The buying process took five months, but I've been safely ensconced in my new home for the past two, and I regret nothing (not even the aging heating system packing it up the moment I moved in).
Best of luck!1 -
