    Hi,
Thought I'd jump of the thread as i'm a complete bag of nerves...

We submitted our mortgage application 2 weeks ago through a broker and are still waiting on the decision  :/. We spoke to our broker on Friday and he said our application had made it to the underwriters that morning and we should hear this week but being as we still haven't heard it's all i can think of. the longer we go the more I think we aren't going to be accepted. The valuation was done last week too so we're waiting on the mortgage offer.

Need something to take my mind off of it all and stop me checking my phone and emails every 2 minutes..... HELLPPPPP!!!!
It's so hard not to think about it constantly, isn't it? Hang in there! From my understanding, some lenders can take their dear sweet time to get back to people. Maybe send a quick email to your broker to see where things are at?

One thing that's helped me a lot is jogging. I took up Couch 2 5K recently and it's definitely distracting ... but I know that's not for everyone!

Emailed to ask for an update, and, "Your application has now been approved a copy of the offer and valuation report has been posted to yourself and your solicitor."

Ahhhhhh! This is amazing news, I'm so excited to finally move on to the next steps!
    Congratulations!!

At least you can now move forward. Can I ask who your lender is?

I know exactly what you mean. Our application is through a broker and I don’t like not being in control, unable to just simply check the progress!! I never, ever want to go through this again 😢

Its agonising. My partner tells me to stop stressing but it's the not knowing, and like you say not being in  control. We've got a house so much better than we expected, got our first offer accepted £15k under asking price and now just feel like that's it there's nothing more we can do to make it ours. We're just stuck now as the solicitor needs paying before they can do anymore but we don't want to risk loosing all that money.

it's good to talk to people and see we're not the only ones in this position.

I went with Yorkshire Building Society in the end! Originally I was originally going to go for HSBC, but their online application portal wasn't playing ball and it would've taken an extra week to get a telephone appointment.

I’ve just made myself feel worse!! If possible?!!
Just created my account with ClearScore and checked on any hard credit checks made on me.. none!! Hubby checked his too... nada!!
Worrying thing is, our lender doesn’t even appear to have done a soft credit check?? AIP/ Application through a broker. Surely a soft check should appear from the AIP?
Oooh, it’s made me feel worse 😢

@Abbiejo we have selected our solicitor but haven’t instructed her to start yet. Same as you, we don’t want to incur charges, just in case 😢

Heyyyyy, I wouldn't worry too much even though its soooooo hard not to! The hard check from the lender will show for sure as I got an email telling me that I have been searched. I am also a FTB and using a mortgage broker. I had an AIP very early on with my broker and nothing cropped up (bonus as sometimes being searched more than once in a month by anyone can screw up your rating temporarily).
    Exciting times though!!!
