We’re also keeping ours secret apart from very immediate family. I feel it’ll jinx it if not! Our application was submitted yesterday by the broker. I don’t like it, as we can’t track our own application 😔 so I’ve not a clue what’s going on & soooooo incredibly worried about our paperwork... I hate this. Most sickening & nerve-wracking thing EVER 😢FTB-

Ok - so my broker has updated me. The underwriter on my case has confirmed my application is approved subject to valuation - as there are delays due to current market circumstances. I expect to get confirmation of a valuation date by tomorrow.
In my mind, that's a lot of nothing. I honestly don't understand why a desktop valuation wouldn't be sufficient as it is a new-build but hey ho.0 -

I did, however, hear back from my homebuyer's survey! Nothing really surprising, but now I'm wondering if the sellers will laugh me out the door if I asked them to remove the artex ceilings. (Asbestos isn't confirmed, but given the property was built between 1960-75 it's highly likely.)0 -

It took us about a month and a half to find our house, but once you know... The wait will all be worth it!0 -

We’ve suffered a setback in our application. One piece of paperwork, proving benefit income, has been updated but I haven’t received it. Bank need the updated version in order to proceed. Other than that, we’ve passed everything, including AVM. Gutted, as I expressed concern with sending the outdated paperwork to the broker but he thought it would be ok, so I didn’t request a new one.The more frustrating part is, a new one supposedly has been issued and sent on May 1st, but we haven’t received it. There’s a high chance it’s been posted through to our next door neighbour; it’s his second home, so he hasn’t been there since early March!I feel sick..FTB-

(Property Solicitor)
Be reassured that there is rarely a problem that cannot be resolved, should one arise. Whether it is a mortgage lender requiring additional information, or needing to move to a new lender or product, problems can be overcome with the professionals you have instructed. The best way to remove stress is to not think about 'when' you would like to move until the chain is ready to move. Otherwise, the dates will come and go and it will stress and anger you. Instead, focus on dates you cannot do, keep those noted, and when the time comes to exchange contracts and lock it in you will realise that it is very undramatic! Moving is fun though, so 'new'!
Best of luck, and if you have any queries I would be happy to answer these.1
