Be reassured that there is rarely a problem that cannot be resolved, should one arise. Whether it is a mortgage lender requiring additional information, or needing to move to a new lender or product, problems can be overcome with the professionals you have instructed. The best way to remove stress is to not think about 'when' you would like to move until the chain is ready to move. Otherwise, the dates will come and go and it will stress and anger you. Instead, focus on dates you cannot do, keep those noted, and when the time comes to exchange contracts and lock it in you will realise that it is very undramatic! Moving is fun though, so 'new'!
Best of luck, and if you have any queries I would be happy to answer these. My whole ‘mantra’ throughout this has been to stay in the here and now. I’m not looking ahead. I don’t talk about ‘our new house’ or ever say ‘when’. Everything’s ‘Ifs’ and ‘maybe’ because, although luck has favoured us so far, it’s bound to run out 😢
but thank you. It is just a frustration and impatience thing now. That, and relying on the postman to post the updated paperwork through our door, as a lot of our mail is potentially sat on our neighbours doormat and he’s not there 😢FTB-

Thank you! 💖My broker has said we’re 99.9999% there and the paperwork is just a box ticking exercise, but it’s the time we got to wait for the paperwork to materialise. Otherwise, we would’ve had an offer within 3 days of submitting application. There’s always something!FTB-

Hellloooooo! First time buyer here too! Had my offer accepted on the 29th May and I am just waiting for my mortgage broker to give me the green light for my mortgage application to be submitted! Exciting times! Definitely anxious as the house that I am buying looks ok on pictures, but on closer inspection it is a royal d.i.y bodge job everywhere! Panicking because I know nothing about renovating a home and with all these constant problems rearing their head every time I go back to view the house, it really makes you question as to whether you are doing the right thing!Debt Remaining: £8,781.53

8 days since my underwriter got in touch with me to ask for evidence, and I haven't heard anything since! Would it be rude to ask for an update? I don't want to be so pushy that my case gets pushed to the bottom of the pile.0

Nothing wrong with politely asking for an update! I would!FTB-

Hi,
Thought I'd jump of the thread as i'm a complete bag of nerves...
We submitted our mortgage application 2 weeks ago through a broker and are still waiting on the decision. We spoke to our broker on Friday and he said our application had made it to the underwriters that morning and we should hear this week but being as we still haven't heard it's all i can think of. the longer we go the more I think we aren't going to be accepted. The valuation was done last week too so we're waiting on the mortgage offer.
Need something to take my mind off of it all and stop me checking my phone and emails every 2 minutes..... HELLPPPPP!!!!0 -
Not first time buyer but buying for the first time in 20 years. Fed up of the Rental trap now, which was ok because we know our landlord and will never be evicted, but would rather be paying off a mortgage than paying rent. Got AIP, got offer accepted on a property and full application put in all within 10 days. Application went in Thursday, and my broker tells me it is with underwriter. They asked for a few bits of paperwork very soon after the application was submitted but nothing too worrying. Also got a text to say that the valuation has been instructed on the same day the application went in. Seemed very fast to me. But now nearly a week later and I have heard nothing and not even had a "hard" credit search recorded yet. It's not a standard easy application. One of us us self employed. Couple of adverse over 18 months ago but credit accounts managed perfectly since, We have almost 17% deposit.
I constantly feel sick. Can't focus on work. Being short tempered. Keep thinking that we will be declined. Constant strange feeling in my stomach. I hate feeling so worried and negative. Just want to fast forward several days so that we know the answer. Have another viewing on our house tomorrow to show the kids. Can't feel excited, as I am worried I will break their hearts if we get declined.0 -
Emailed to ask for an update, and, "Your application has now been approved a copy of the offer and valuation report has been posted to yourself and your solicitor."
Ahhhhhh! This is amazing news, I'm so excited to finally move on to the next steps!0
