  • I'm due to due my 1st MS for the 'Value' supermarket, I knew I'd be in the area on the day visiting family, so accepted, by my family have told me the main store is closed (being rebuilt) and the temporary one has no petrol station/cafe/fish counter.

Do I go ahead with the MS, this now being an easy shop? (N/A....N/A..)
Or do I have to contact the MS company?

I would contact the MS company and tell them this. This happened to me with GfK as a shop they sent me to had closed down. I still got my fee anyway as it wasn;t my fault.

Hope this helps and let us know how you get on with it.

Very annoyed, did a yellow garage on Friday, filled up with the £10 and spent 51p on a packet of Skittles in the shop.

However today the assignment was rejected as I didn't spend £1. I'm annoyed because I have a receipt and put in £10 of petrol with no premium fees or anything to do them a favour then they turn round and say I did it incorrectly.

They have the check to phone me a few weeks back begging me to travel 50 miles to do a golden arches job for two poxy garage jobs as fuel reimbursment but always pick a fault. I've left them a phone message and I'm becoming increasingly impaitent with there crap service.

Right - seriously - no more questions after this (or not today anyway!).

I signed up to Assossia at the weekend, and before I had even had an e-mail confirming my acceptance I was asked if I would carry out an audit for them tomorrow. I was very polite and said I couldn't manage it this week - which is true - but I was a bit freaked out! Because all they e-mailed were basic instructions, but I've been given no guideline or training or any info at all as to how you carry out their audits, what you wear, say etc.

I had a look on the website, but there is just no info. Does anyone work for them, who could shed some light on this? For instance, is it difficult? Does it take long? I thought it would be just mystery shopping! Not that I mind having a go at something-else, but it would take more planning with my little ones, if its really time consuming.

    Any help gratefully received!

If you reply saying that you can do a job and you are accepted, they send you a brief which details exactly what you need to do. They're really helpful, so if you have a question you can e-mail them back with it and they'll give you all the info you need :)

I wouldn't actually tell them in advance - why should they benefit from info given to you by your family? I'd just do the 'easy' MS.

I would expect to be paid, but would buy staples so that I wouldn't suffer too much financially if they refuse to pay. But I repeat, I would expect them to pay - maybe even some extra as I had the added stress of finding the 'temporary' site (unless it is on the same premises).

I got paid £30 extra once (on a £6 job) to travel a long way, and when I got there I found the store was closed for refurbishment. I took some pix on my mobile phone (another hint!) and was paid anyway. :T

Firstly, you won't (or don't have to) pay NI as long as you're earning < £6035, which I don't think anybody does on here.

Secondly, I don't think most MSers do it just for the money, it's mostly to do with what you get out of it, such as the odd 'free' meal or cinema trip (which are becoming less common now!).

SO - yes, it's a great second income but if you can spare a regular 2 nights a week, it's much more worthwhile you getting a p/t job if you need the money, I would say.
i pay voluntery NI to keep my contributions up as i worked full time since leaving school i dont want it to go to waste i think you need to make full cointributions but 40 years or they may have changed it but you can request a pension forecast.
boring stuff but when your in your 40's it si important

What's all that about then!!!    :confused: I'll do it, 'cos I need petrol and £8 back is better than nothing, but I won't be doing one again!

Talking of Gap, I have an assignment to do for them today and the instructions are very meagre. I'm assuming they are letting me say whatever I want in regards to what features I want from the product etc. But, it says I've to make a purchase and they'll reimburse £5. But, do I have to spend at least £5 or can I spend less than this?
