Does anyone know how long it takes for your application to be processed by Gap? I applied a few days ago but haven't heard anything yet, not even a confirmation email.

Sarah.
Sarah,
They take AGES to reply - I applied twice and chased them three times before I got accepted. My boyfriend's done exactly the same, at the same time and STILL hasn't been accepted...
I would email them and maybe apply again?

I already have an evening meal one booked for today which I was planing on enjoying with the bf and the two "urgent" ones will seriously eat into my time and travel today, but agreed to do them as they were "urgent" and they've offered me more money. Sorry for the rant, but am fuming!!!!

Bassibabes, if someone in your group is ordering something which isn't "allowed" then the report will be void. The "banned" items are usually items which are affecting the serving times. As you were there in a group and the food will have been served together it will have affected the timings for your own meals too.

I thought GAP said you could take other people but they must order and pay separately?0

Hmmm it doesn't actually state that. It doesn't say that they have to order and pay separately either. I read the report at least twice from cover to cover and even checked it in the toilets at the restaurant!
It says that you can take other guests to a maximum of four people in your party and you can order and eat together as a group. It states that you can only assess the food quality of the specific items needed for the assignment and from that I deduced that anything can be ordered and consumed (apart from pineapple), and I only assessed the food and service quality based on my meal. In fact, my bf's food and mine arrived at the same time but my kids' food was far too hot and came out much later than ours but I didn't even mention this in my report!
I've asked them to ring me urgently and have cancelled my evening meal assignment booked for tonight. If what you've said is true, then their assignment notes are far too ambiguous and should be more specific!
EDIT: Also edited to say that the question I asked was that my pizza was brought out when it was ready so that it didn't have any impact on the timings. However, even though you are instructed to ask a question in the notes, you are not asked anything about this on the questionnaire report!? See what I mean about being ambiguous (and downright weird!?)0 -
If you followed the brief, stick to your guns! Keep the printed copy and ask them where on the brief you've gone wrong (which by your info looks like they won't be able to do) - if you do this, they have no option to pay you; normally or through court if you make them0

Yeah thanks Timmne I will! I think that if they say that it's because of the half and half pizza, then that is completely unfair and if they want to have some control over the food AS A GROUP then they can't say that you should only evaluate the food which is part of the assignment - it's either one of the other, I'm afraid...0 -
Well, I stopped working for them some time ago because of their attitude, silly briefs and even sillier questionnaires. From the two or three pizza places I have done for them I seem to remember something like I mentioned in my last post.
Apologies if they have changed it - or I have a mushy brain.
But yes - go for it, ask for a proper explanation and stick to your guns. I've done the same before and eventually they paid. In some cases all of it, in other cases only some of it.0 -

hehe my favourite bit of the questionnaire is the one for the burger joint where they say something like "Was the food temperature hot or cold? - yes or no" and then if you don't answer it and try to submit, you can't, so have to put either yes or no?! Crazy crazy!!0
