I had a reply they said you need a score of 80% or more I got 76%
I must admit the question that said what part of the questionnaires IS subjective? I was not sure what to put.
They said my answers revealed I misunderstood or misinterpretated the handbook as my answers was not up to standard
and that my spelling was below standard? but I spent 90 minutes doing it I reread and rand spell check 3 times so that one I am puzzled about.
I am not too bothered about the work i would just like to pass the test now,
I completed gb no problem0 -
Samtastic I don't want this to come accross as rude (although no doubt it will!) but do you type the TNS questionnaire as you did on your post above & other posts? I'm not trying to be nasty but if you type with lower case 'i' for example and don't punctuate then they'll reject it straight away as they're strict on SPAG. (Did anyone else practice Spelling Punctuation And Grammar at school?!)
Perhaps it's worth asking them why?
But I do not always use it correctly when I am posting on chat forums such as this one.
BY the way you have spelt across incorrectly!0 -

So what did you put for this answer?0 -
similar to what you said earlier about it being .......
none of it is meant to be subjective and that it's meant to be an objective, factual report0 -

I really hope I'm not going to get loads of replies now telling me that is wrong! I still believe this is the right answer as I did a report the other day that specified to be subjective in one or two specific areas. The rest of the time though I (try to) remain objective.
I did have to look it up on the Cambridge online dictionary first though, just to make sure I was doing it the right way round!
subjective
adjective
influenced by or based on personal beliefs or feelings, rather than based on facts:
objective (FAIR OR REAL)
adjective
based on real facts and not influenced by personal beliefs or feelings:
an objective and impartial report
I think with TNS you have to make them believe you have superior command of language and grammer. I certainly don't, it's ok, but not great. I edited my answers so many times until I considered them to spot on. (It helps that my partner is highly critical and the slightest mistake he will jump on!)
If you open the test in a new browser window (preferably tabbed so you can easily click from one to the other) you can refer back and forth to the different pages on the handbook where they give you all the answers.
All I tried to do was summarise their explanation back to them in my own words. Don't rewrite their answers and don't repeat yourself. It's not just spelling, grammer and punctuation they will look at, it's the way you phrase your answers and your ability to summarise information in a concise and relevant way.0 -
Anyone want to do complete the TNS application for me?0

I still have my application in a word document somewhere!0

I'll trade you nudge nudge wink wink!! :A0

I didn't save mine, I completed as I said above. I read through their introduction first, opened a new browser and tabbed back and forth, scanning through to get the answers.
You could get someone else (preferably really critical) to read it through first before you resubmit it? If you write all of your answers in word it will highlight your errors. Bear in mind though that it only tells you when your punctuation, spelling and grammar is incorrect. It won't tell you whether it's technically up to scratch or give you any suggestion how to improve it.
For TNS you should avoid long, over punctuated explanations as it just comes across as waffle! That's what I had to edit out!0 -

It involved going to a supermarket chain store (this particular store only had the fashion, home and lifestyle sections-no food). Two of the sections that needed evaluating were not even there, there was no greeter and there were no service desks in the departments I was meant to direct a query to. I managed to find someone stacking shelves in the clothes department but for the other department I had to make enquiries with I walked around for over 10 minutes trying to find a store assistant and not one could be found. I ended up just going over to the customer service area, which was my last task, making my final query and leaving.
Anyway from this I have learnt that the stores only want you to say nice things about them!
Oh greatI've had one of these today and I couldn't find staff in all departments so just left it! Haven't submitted report yet. Probably no point either if not going to get paid
As for your second point, I've been thinking that for a long time. I've had instances where managers have argued the toss, and it does worry me when now when I've had a bad experience. Last time I told the MS company concerned that I was not about to engage in a slanging match, but at the end of the day, I am completely unbiased in my report. I have no affiliation to the companies I visit, whereby the manager has i.e. he or she has had a roasting and is trying to cast the blame somewhere else.
I mean what is the point of MS when you feel as though you have to pretend you've had a good visit?0
