Sorry, I didn't mean diss as such, but a lot of people do say bad things about them, be it wrong or right. Granted some of their reports are quite weird, if it wasn't for GAP, I would never have got the experience I needed to start doing it properly. ** Personally, after you get the hang of MSing, I suggest your broaden your horizons to companies such as TNS. Granted they do have a 20 plus question quiz thing, but once you get it in, it's great. They do more upmarket companies, and it's perfect if you like to take friends out for a meal as they do pubs and posh pizza places too. ** With regards to BARE, it started off as a trickle for me too. With them, they score you on your reports. If you get 8 or above, you are in demand. I've had a few phone calls from different project manager's asking me to do visits for them cos I have had high marks on the visits I did. Just get one or two good results under your belt, and everything is good. ** Good luck.

Just had an email off GAP saying they won't pay me for a job. mightly cheesed off as I had problems entering it. I'm also not happy that they take so long on paying you and don't give you a break down of what jobs they paid you for. I got loads of emails re the bonus offer and I didn't qualify for any of these. I had already started being picky and being careful about what I pick, am now not sure I want to work for them at all. I think they are a good company to start you off, but for me it isn't working out as the petrol and parking costs for getting to the assisgnments means it costs me. I think people who live in cities have more luck with gap.
They must be going through a "Budget cut" I just had a similar message. I went into one of these (stand alone) places where you have to pay by debit card. I got the first item for 4.30 and a stationary item for 6.50, at the till the cashier said she wouldn't accept debit card for the 6.50. I thought that was fine as long as I had the other item with a debit card. Today I received a message saying that I did not spend the the 5.00!!!
I sent a reply and waiting to hear.

TNS do a coffee chain, but they have the cheek to expect you to do reports for them for no pay!!

This MS thing ain't no walk in the park. I'm reading through the details for the one I've got tomorrow and they want things like the time I was in there to the nearest minute, the number of customers, etc. How am I supposed to remember all that?

Indeed, I agree. It's great fun, but certainly no walk in the park. I spent > 1 hour on a report last night after having a lovely meal somewhere. I must have looked like I was texting a lot as I was taking a few notes on the mobile because I just can't remember everything!

I have to turn my phone onto silent or my phone just keeps bleeping with all the texts I have to send myself. Thankfully my hubby, mother in law, and children all have the MS mindset now, and say things like, that man has blue eyes and is wearing an earing, bless them.

  • After saying yesterday that I liked Gap, that does not apply today, it is so slow, and I have 5 jobs to do for them today and need to print print print, serves me right for not being organised and doing it yesterday.

You can make some notes before you go in - shops left and right, promotions in window, time of entry.

Then either make discreet notes on your "shopping list" or save answers in your mobile phone as a text message draft. Making up your own shorthand helps too. eg if I wrote:
    Hayley f 20 54 l br pt gl
I would mean - Hayley, female, in her 20's, 5'4" tall, long brown hair fastened back in a pony tail, and wearing glasses.

It seems like a manic amount of information that you have to collect at first, but once you get used to it, it does get easier. Practise by trying to recall as much information as you can from any non-MS shopping trips you might do. How many people were in front of you, and what was the cashiers name and description last time you did your grocery shopping? What was the person description and how did the interaction go last time you bought something at the chemist? and so on!
Here I go again on my own....
