    bleep, bleep.

waste of time. Can't believe I did it, how on earth, had a really bad day with MS, feel like giving up. I did check the address but as it wasn't on the paperwork I went by town name without giving it away we don't have many of these places around here and because the MS company had the town name wrong, the address was correct but town name wrong, I went to the right town wrong street iykwim! Doh how silly do I feel.

    I need a beer now.

If the MS company had the town name wrong it's hardly your fault. I'd argue with them over that!

I would still report it if I was you, who knows they might have been planning to do the other town next month!
I feel like giving up every night when I am faced with hours of reports, but hey! today I had an all paid for breakfast, a full service lunch shopped for clothes and accessories and even had my heart X-Rayed! So can't complain! except instead of the entretainment I planned for tonight, here I am waiting for my One And Only Gap to return safely, so I can finish my report!:( :(:(

    Hi

This is probably an obvious question but I just want to make sure Im doing it right. I know you can claim 40p mile milage when doing tax return but as I alway use public transport instead of driving is it ok to claim this?

Yes - you can claim whatever's relevant; if you drive claim the mileage and if you get public transport then claim the ticket fee.

How about if you have (say) an annual season ticket, which covers the journey that you are going to make for the Mystery Shop - Can you claim a % of the annual season ticket fee for the day (say 1/365 of the full cost) on a day that you do a mystery shop using that ticket?

I made a thread about this before seeing this thread, but could anyone please tell me which company recently did mystery shops in a burger shop (not the usual burger chain, the other "royal" one :P)?

Yes, I could tell you, but I won't, as my contract with the company involved says I mustnt!

and the next silly question - As it is inevitable that will all the allowable expenses, there will be a reasonable loss on the Mystery Shopping, can this be offset against other employment tax liabilities on the tax return, so for example:

    Main employment - £39,000
    Secondary employment - £1000
    Self employment - -£400 (loss)

Thereby keeping you under the 40% tax threshhold?
