When my wife got a PCN from an Aldi car park we messaged Aldi's Facebook page and eventually got it cancelled that way.5

Definitely attack the matter on social media - name and shame Aldi till they cancel it.
FORGET POPLA for 2 weeks, please, stop thinking you need to crack on with it. Nope. Starting POPLA means landowner cancellation might not be possible. Has to be done this way round, and the complaint exhausted.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Noted. I will mount a social media attack. Thanks!2

also POPLA is on "hold" due to the CV19 issues, so although you need to try and ensure you get the popla appeal in before any deadline, there is no rush, whereas ALDI are open for business so keep on shaming them and also aim at the CEO , the organ grinder and not the monkeys

The Store Manager took the line 'the car park is nothing to do with us, sorry we can't help, take it up with the parking firm.'
It's old but I think the PDF (council's response to FOI) might be worth checking out as it suggests that P.E.'s contract was with the council rather than Aldi back in 2013:

Hmmm, hang on, looks like it has long been complex. Perhaps there is no valid contract, I suspect that is indeed the situation and one which would bode well for a win a POPLA:

However do persevere with Aldi's CEO at this point.3 -
if this gets to POPLa , you will win
However IT WONT , this site , is like all the bylaw sites they run (metro) , they do not want POPLa to adjudicate , once they have done , and dismissed the case (on this case due to planniing laws) , then it a simple ,matter fot this info to trickle back to the BPA , who would have to remind there member of the code of practice , and possability of sanctions
no body can rock the boat , no one can kill the cash cow , not cricket old sport
this wont go to court for several reasons
1: not seen a single case on Aldi owed property yet , aldi cannot afford the bad press
2: Care parkings are not renown for doing court
and to finish this off , "death by suicide" for care aldi and solisitors should this end up at county court , which is no more than 500 yds from the site , and within walking distance of preston counsil records office4 -

I politely insisted it was their car park and they have a responsibility to ensure that customers can shop at Aldi without being unfairly fined. I am very unhappy etc... I left the details with him, but I'm not optimistic he'll do anything. Another member of staff who overheard, told me to 'just ignore it'.
What a shame that you spoiled my last ever visit to your store, where I was spending £LOTS as I do every week and have been for * years. Neither I, my family nor friends can afford to shop at Aldi in future if every visit comes with a £100 surcharge. Other supermarkets are available. You should be doing everything in your power to keep loyal customers not annoy them by employing money grabbing scammers - words used in parliament.
*Insert appropriate number of years5 -
Thank you, I will try that on my follow-up visit and emails!
The latest from Aldi customer services is: 'Unfortunately Aldi are unable to assist with Care Parking. The only parking charge we can assist with is Parking Eye. Aldi Do not own any of the car parks. To dispute the parking charge please go to the company that has provided you with the ticket.'
Seems I was ticketed by the wrong parking company, lucky me! How ridiculous.
@twhitehousescat you suggested a few posts back that this is an Aldi-owned site, which contradicts their reply? I put in my email that as the site-owner they should be able to do something about the ticket. Can I prove they own the car park?

Only by paying the land registry a small fee ( I would have thought it's obvious because government keeps data on it , same as the DVLA in Swansea keeps vehicle and driver records , the DWP keeps NI numbers , the Inland revenue keep tax records , etc )4
