It sounds to me as if they are just going to write to the court to say that the claim has been settled. This will not wipe out the judgement entirely. It will show as a satisfied. That may help your credit history to some extent but will not clear it.
It does sound as if they are trying to bring in cash and tidy up the debtor book. They will not be doing you any favours. There must be something in it for them.
Their balance sheet contains a large amount of debtors (people who owe money). Should they be looking for further finance during the crisis any lender would have concerns about the size and age of the debts, They would want to see an aged debtor list. They are not eligible for Government schemes either.
As we know they have been chasing a lot of historic claims recently so this could be the new ruse.

I would be wary of Excel. They have been known to be underhanded in their dealings.
You could write to the court (where the judgment was made) to see if Excel have made any arrangement with them and what (if any) costs would be involved.
The way that life is changing now will be hard on the parking companies and their bottom feeders. If air passengers are quarantined for 14 days that will impact on flights. Parking at airports and stations is a big part of Excel's business.
People are now being encouraged to use bikes and cities are becoming car free. More people are working from home and many will continue after lock down. More people are buying their groceries online and probably some will continue with stores like Marks and Spencers signing up with Ocado to offer a delivery service.
This will all impact on the revenue of the PPC's so it's not surprising that they will start to get creative.
I can understand that you will want to clear your credit record so that you can apply for a mortgage and will have to consider that you may have to pay a higher rate if you have a poor credit history. That could cost more in the long run.
You will have to weigh up whether this is worth it as you could lose £100.00. It's possible that if you pay them on a credit card you may be able to claim the £100.00 back through a charge back if Excel do not deliver what they say they will in the letter.
I think though that you may have to be prepared to lose £100.00 to gain a settled judgment on your credit record.

Before committing yourself to any plan of Excel's, I'd be asking them a series of very tightly drawn questions and asking for their written guarantee that your credit rating will be cleansed and repaired (if this is its only blemish) to its pre-CCJ status. All in writing. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Mr Snake is correct and I think it's up to the OP as to how valuable his credit rating is to him.
Does the OP know that he can add comments himself to the CCJ on file. It is there for creditors to read

Surely this needs reporting to Trading Standards?
What about a complaint to the IPC as well? Yes, I am serious. This needs looking at.
They are saying that they will REMOVE the CCJ from the record by liaising with the court. There seems to be no mechanism by which a parking firm could do this for £100 because even a set aside with consent costs £100 in court fees.
What they mean is marking it satisfied but this wording is misleading in the extreme.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Action Fraud might look at it if the complaint was made in the right way. Needs someone to look at it who realises the huge legal difference between 'removing' a CCJ and just marking it satisfied.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It does say in the letter that "they will contact the County Court and instruct them to remove the judgment from their credit register".
This does not seem like the Excel that we have come to hate. Are they going soft? Has SRS developed a conscience?
