Hi,
Advice please,
So, I had a CCJ from VCS a couple years ago. Yes I acknowledge that this could have been prevented had I acted differently, or in fact at all, at the time, but here we are.
Not heard from them for a couple of years now , then a letter today which seems to be offering to remove the CCJ for a settlement fee.
I can't find anything anywhere which shows that a creditor has had a CCJ removed a couple of years in. Is this legit ? Strange it just says to transfer the fee to a specific account, rather than to get in touch etc. Possible scam but I'll email VCS to see, but even so , is it possible they could have the Judgement removed?
Letter ….

how long a go was it ?have you had any credit problems ?I suspect £££ must be getting tight for them ....Ralph4

cant see this being a: legal and b: profitable for them
a: this would need to be an undisputed set aside , not a nod and wink to courts
b: £100 for setaside? , whos going to pay this5 -
Legal - i would say it is. But remember the court can say no,although as the claimant has instigated it then that's a low risk, but a risk none the less.
Profitable - ONLY if they're not paying the £100/£255 fees.5 -
in order to get a setaside there must be a vaid reason
"are you struggling to get credit , let us CLEAN YOUR CREDIT HISTORY for £100" would not be looked upon favorably
I suspect , they will take the £100 , then send you required forms with the £100 bill from the CC
talk of "leasing with county court and credid referance Cos " does not sound correct , PS , nowt to do with credit agencies , its to do with trust online , who then foward to credit agencies
I suspect a Jake Co con in progress6 -
me too, they gain £100 and agree to a set aside with consent, sending the form out and expecting the OP to pay the £100 feelike a with consent set aside in reverseits the fee they dont tell you about , it looks like they have reduced it by £85 , which I suppose they have , which cons the recipient into getting sucked in3
-
thank you for your £100 , unfortunatly due to the time between the CCJ and now ,the courts have stated that you have to pay the additional fee of £85 to clear the total cost
please send monies to ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
4 weeks later
enclosed are court forms , please return them with your £100 cheque made payable to HM courts
see you sucker

There's more chance of it being a phishing exercise, to see who they can start recovering their ccj ill gotten gains from.5

From what i can see, the £100 would at best get it marked as Settled/Satisfied? which isn't worth bothering with.
