So Enterprise are swapping my courtesy car over tomorrow to something that's an estate (like mine) which is great- but a far bigger engine. (1.6!) I'll have to see how it goes for fuel economy as my car is a 1.2 (deliberately to keep petrol costs down) and the rental that I'm currently driving is a 1.0. So I'll see how it does for a week- and see how long the fuel lasts me in comparison to normal- otherwise I'm going to ask to switch it again.
Daughters ankle is looking much better- Tonight I need to get out all her hobby gear and make sure everything still fits from last year whilst I still have time to knock something else together!Bottom line;

All the clothing still fit my daughter (I swapped a load with a friend last year trading her 8 year olds clothing for my daughter's clothes from when she was 5 as she has a younger kid as well) Need to get her shoes out of storage as well and make sure they fit.Bottom line;

Shoes fit- thank goodness (they need to be handmade so would've been a massive job if they hadn't)
Pug friend is coming around tonight to help pack the van for the weekend and because he and husband are leaving at just after 3pm when husband finishes work- It'll just be my daughter and I in the car. So we're having mcdonalds and a disney sing along on the way down. Sounds amazing.
The hire car that turned up yesterday wasn't the one that was promised so it's a small engine size and a decent size car. It's like driving a sofa (in the best way) so I'm really happy with that being the one I'm going to spend 6 hours roundtrip driving across the weekend.)

We had a lovely weekend. Equally ace drive back. Daughter spent the weekend running around with a big group of other kids and having a whale of a time.
I've caught up with lots of friends.
The big doom once again didn't happen (almost as if I'm right!) and so husband has chilled out.
There is however, so much unpacking and washing and cleaning to do. Will take until the weekend to properly sort out I reckon.Bottom line;

I cooked on the stove both both evenings of the weekend- cost me £8 in gas and £10 in food which is significantly better than the £70 we would have spent in years gone by.
Also there was enough food to feed 2 of our other friends both evenings- one of whom paid me back in alcohol and the other one is bubble friend who is round for our usual weekday hangout this evening and has said he'll buy us all takeaway in repayment.Bottom line;

Had a chinese takeaway last night which was absolutely lovely. Doing chorizo salad for dinner tonight as randomly got a chorizo from waste food group yesterday.
(It's a dead simple recipe but tastes lovely)- Cube chorizo, dry fry in a pan, once there is lots of fat come off the chorizo add chopped red and orange peppers and red onion- leave veg for a few minutes to cook and then stir in a tin of chickpeas- wait until they are warmed and then mix with a load of rocket, put a bit of balsamic vinegar over and serve.Bottom line;
