    Hi I hope you don’t mind me reading your diary. Congratulations on becoming debt free 🎉🎉

    hope everything is going ok

    I recently became mortgage free and can’t tell anyone in real life. My FIL paid the remainder of this week sort of for my hubby’s 40th birthday. Back in September my MIL died after a horrible 6 month cancer battle which we supported them through and continue to support FIL best we can. Due to this I’m feeling quite awkward about it rather than happy if that makes sense

    excess money has been allocated to pay off loan by Christmas….typical that we had to replace a car tyre and a toaster today 😂😂

    Sorry for the silence. Been a horrible month; daughter had a horrendous bike accident on way home from school on the 23rd March and we then spent 12 days in hospital, initially our local one but then transferred to the one in the next county which specialises in plastic surgery; she's ended up having 3 operations and a skin graft on her ankle which initially didnt take very well so have been going back to hospital every other day for viability checks but then had a week at home where she had to have her leg totally immobile and I basically waited on her hand and foot (not going to lie, she loved that bit!)

    However! 3.5 weeks after the initial accident she's had another review back at hospital yesterday and it's finally healing! (Shockingly well given what it looked like 7 days ago) and she's been signed off on being allowed to walk on it again which means she can go back to school next Tuesday.

    Also- just to add to my stress; I was rearended by a van whilst stopped at a zebra crossing last Thursday (on the way back from hospital!) which basically staved in the back of my car (bumper destroyed, boot caved in and the rear part of the structural chassis dented) However they've admitted full liability and I've been given a hire car to drive whilst they repair my poor car..

    So I've been AWOL in everything except looking after my daughter. Work have been brilliant though.

    My EF has taken a battering (petrol costs from driving back and forth to the hospital countless times and having to buy canteen food every day for 12 days) but that's not important in the grand scheme of things.

    I'm so happy she's on the mend!
    Bottom line;
    £49k paid off
    Car HP paid off
    Debt Free!
    Saved Escape fund and moved out.

    Current focus; saving Emergency fund
  • Oh my goodness what a dreadful time for you. Glad your daughter has now started to heal. Hope your ok and don’t have whiplash. How frightening. Take care xx
