The other one that we had - the very naughty younger half sister of the one that we still have - was called Sarah by my son. That would have been ok if the receptionist at the new vet surgery wasn't callled Sarah as well 🙄

So off again today. Daughter's test came back negative (as I thought it would) but she's feeling rough and given its driving rain here I thought a day in the house playing on the switch and xbox would be good for her.)

Ive made pancakes and then sat on the couch with a brew next to daughter and read an entire book in one sitting. Feeling very zen.

Looks like the paying back my dad is a definite, husband told my dad we would when he was up here on Tuesday, so that's brilliant.

Finally, camping for August is back on! Husband feels they are sufficiently contrite (no-one has actually said anything or apologised, it's just long enough that he can reframe the whole thing as 'resolved now that everyone is back in their boxes' in his head rather than 'I made myself look like a fool'

    But hurrah for camping.

My dad also has a plan for my sister's belated 30th celebration in August (cancelled due to covid lockdowns)- he wants us all to go alpaca walking! To be fair he is bang on, she would absolutely love that. He wants to split it 50/50 cost wise with me, which should work out; no school wraparound care to pay for in August so that money will more than cover it.

Camping sounds good - at least if His Royal Highness kicks off you'll still have people to talk to. I haven't been alpaca walking but I've been llama trekking which was good fun. Paying your dad back is another tick off your list isn't it?

Absolutely fuming with myself, muppet that I am. I spent a goodly amount of yesterday afternoon writing out the paperwork for the non-hsbc financial ombudsman complaints- (they want to finish all the little ones before they make a judgement on the big bank one)

Anyhow, spent about 1.5 hours writing out all the details, posted them on the way to pick husband up from work... . Ive just found the stamps I fished out to put on them, sitting on the mantlepiece in the lounge. So I've posted 3 letters.... None with stamps. *irritated eye twitch*
    What an absolute idiot.

Spent £22 on the food shopping for the week.

    Here's the menu;
Today- Sort of cottage pie (made from corned beef) already made up last night and in the fridge.
    Sun- chicken fajitas
    Mon- Vegetable pad thai
    tues- Chicken salad wraps
    Wed- Chilli
    Thurs- Chinese noodles
    Friday- Fish pie

Doing a bit of sewing at the moment but I'm down to my last reel of white thread and its doing the irritating thing of catching on the cotton reel because its down to the last 10% odd. Will have to grab some more from the shop on Monday.

They may be delivered. Bizarrely the post office seems able to detect insufficient postage but the couple of times that I've posted/received things without stamps on at all they seem to have just gone through. Fingers crossed yours do too. .
  • Great news on the camping trip, will be nice to be away in a group so you can get some use with others.

Fingers crossed the letter still arrive 🙏 it does happen sometimes!

I'm going to leave it until Tuesday and then ring the bloke.

My washing machine appears to be on the blink. I used it for dyeing and the linen really badly shed so I thought it could be a blockage but this afternoon ive cleaned the washer drain, hose and dismantled the u bend and cleaned that out and its still doing it. If it doesnt magically fix itself overnight ill sort out a repairman.
