Morning (yawn).
I've been up since 4.35am because *somebody* was dreaming. That *somebody* proceeded to shake me awake and then claim that I woke them up when I asked (quite reasonably in my view) what the everlasting frag he thought he was doing waking me up like that. I'd had three hours sleep at most. And then say he hadn't slept a wink all night. He was clearly still half in and half out of his dreams. I refused to go back to bed, which turned out to be the right decision because when I went back up there to get my phone and glare at him, he's in the throes of another one, waving his legs around and calling out.
I've had one tea, I'm on my third coffee and the birds are having in flight punchups over the moistened mealworms I've put on the feeder.
If I can stay awake (which I have to, thanks to work), when he finally emerges, he is going to be ordered to sort out the spare room so the bed can be used. And there are plenty more jobs he can be getting on with afterwards, rather than staying up late watching videos and all sorts of nonsense that leads to debacles like this morning.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll10 -
Round 1 done, except I am waiting for more washing from the rest of the household! I will leave that to DH, and he can empty the DW and WU as well!
I think I will go to the allotment early, before it gets too hot. If I put an hour or so in there, I can the crack on at home. I am going to have a word with DH about putting up the greenhouse this week, as he and DS are off work and the forecast is good, but I need to phrase it carefully, as I don't want to be accused of nagging which will lead to nothing being done!! Maybe I will ask if will help me...…..? They are all watching Star Wars documentaries at the moment!! Very productive
Round 2
sun cream!
make tea to take with me, and water (biscuits are already hidden in the bag!)
plant courgettes
clear out monster parsnip which has started to flower! (making sure arms are covered so that I don't get blisters from the sap!!)
That will probably be enough down there for today - the shed/summerhouse beckons...…. I MUST sort these toys!!

I've got a far as the exercise on my list so lovely soak in the bath is next when I finish this cuppa.Spend less now, work less later.10

I’m having a sit down to get over reading Iona’s to do list 🤣
Just back from 3 hours at the allotment. I have finally found the back of the plot - first time that I’ve got that far in weed clearing. Just don’t look at the very front... 😳. Now maybe I can actually start planting. I have done the plant baby shuffle this morning, and had a flying fit before going to the allotment - cleaned all the downstairs windows (yes, even the kitchen 😇), cleaned the downstairs loo, s&s’d the ensuite, and hung a load of towels outside. The 2nd load is now swishing, and I need to hot foot it to the village shop to get milk and a couple of other bits if they have them.8 -
Round 2 done 😊
I got home to find the WM hadn't been put on, but the WU was done, and the DW was emptied. And everyone was dressed, so that was something! 😂 DH had also levelled the slabs for the greenhouse. Unfortunately, as it is only on sand, it sort of gives way in one corner when I tread on it. DH didnt look pleased that I trod on it, but if it's not stable there is no point building anything on it! I have suggested some edging which can be bought from bandq, but that was hours ago and he has not moved yet!
I put on the WM & it is now blowing on the line, and did myself some lunch.
DH has found some old pc games and has tried loading them on his laptop - another time bandit!! 🤦♀️😡
After lunch I have been pottering around in the DR (also home to toys & games). So far I have:
Cleaned the fire station
Dusted the unit it sits on
Dusted the top of the tall unit
Dusted the board games & replaced them in a tidy pile
Emptied a basket of old paperwork
Put pile of files & paperwork from the top of the printer into the basket
Cleared and dusted the table
The rest of the family have now gone on a bike ride, so I am going to do some shredding while watching some tv.8 -
It's quiet on here - I am the only one posting!
Shredding done, for now. I have done a webinar this evening and feel a bit more focused and motivated for starting work again, and I have made an action plan! But I won't be doing it tonight!!

Hi all
Been tired all day and a bit anxious too. Work has been quite stressful. Have managed to get some washing done, hoovered upstairs, fed everyone, walked the dog and done a full day at the paid stuff. Asda order done, tried to keep it under £100 but we have eaten our way through the contents of the freezer so not much chance of that happening! Off to put PJs on now.10 -
What you can do with an old bath..........
I've got rain envy here, it was too hot for me at 27degrees. Managed a run first thing though before the temperature rose and found a new to me track through woodland which was lovely, lots of bird song and shade.
A few more things done from 'garden list' - sowed basil, planted out squashes. Lots of greenhouse watering done. Mr N started an addition to the list - removing the fairly rotten front fence partly to replace it and partly so we can get to the weeds behind it as the men putting in the new broadband cable will need to go through the area. Good luck to them I say - I wouldn't want to wrestle with a large spiny Berberis.
1 load through dw.
Booked a slot at the local garden centre for next Monday - they are open to bookings only and are letting in 8 people per hour, which sounds sensible. Probably the only time I'll go to a garden centre on a bank holiday and not meet swarms of people.
Had a Zoom coffee with a friend and booked another with 2 other friends/old work colleagues for next week.
Took dog for a walk. Went through this morning's wood again.
Sorry minimal house flying today.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10
