Wow, I've pretty much lost this week. So much has been happening here on Fred, lots of GWS and good luck vibes to everyone. I will get in a tangle if I mention individuals as Corona brain and the black dog make strange bedfellows. So inspired by everyone's hard work, especially in the garden, so thank you. It brightens my day xxx
There has been some flying but not as much as I'd like as I tackled some big frogs.
Took the young Skints for a local bike ride along seafront again on Wednesday. Absolutely manic, no way was this just local population coming out. You would have thought it was August school holidays. Somebody at the council thought it would be a good idea to open beach huts.......except once they have unbundled all their gibble in front of their huts like they normally do, you can get passed but not at a 2 metre social distancing unless you dismount into the sand, and even without the beach huts the swarms of people are just walking 3 or 4 abreast giving you nowhere to go if you've got kids on bikes. So back to walking on the flat side streets or staying in the garden. Good for me, but not the young Skints who really want to stretch their legs.
DD4 has been working hard planting up her container garden. Each week I get a new growing herb for 50p from Mr A. She has a sprouting potato at the bottom, parsley, thyme, coriander and this weeks addition was Basil.
Monster migraine with visual disturbances on Friday including vomiting X 5. I was rooted to the spot upstairs, so we had some fatalities before the young Skints Could get me a plastic box. So the migraine decluttered 1 duvet, 1 cover, 1 dress, 1 sheet and a towel. Which DS helped me to triple bag for infection risk, sprayed with Dett0l and is now outside. Yesterday evening I started to perk up,
I have had a set to, and decided that it's more important to have a bigger footprint to walk on in the kitchen, so I am about to re-home my upright freezer in the kitchen. Tetris has been played and WON in the chest freezer with no casualties. Upright freezer has been defrosting on 2 puppy pads overnight ready for cleaning today ready to go to its new owner soon....ISH.
I finished cleaning my mattress, and started going through all my drawers. At first it was to get rid of all the spare pillowcases that matched their fallen comrade, but then I kept going. I've tested all my charging leads, got all the duff ones and broken technology in a box ready for the young Skints school recycling scheme when it is back up and running. All extra pennies for the PTA. 😁
Started labelling which chargers belong with which devices so if they get separated in the future,I've got a fighting chance of matching them back up. The old raggedy bedding as spares and orphaned pillowcases are now going via school to be made into doggy bedding for a rescue centre. Before lockdown, I asked my local charity shop if they collect ripped/stained clothing for rag weight money expecting them to be offended or say no......but they seemed genuinely excited and gave me a special bag just for rag waste..She said as long as it's marked "rags" this is a quick win for the shop because they don't spend valuable time grading, pricing, hanging, displaying or storing it.
So I now have sorting bags labelled Charity Rags, Charity Donations, School Recycling, DD1, DD2, DD3 and nuclear/sentimental...... knowing that once it's safe massive bundles will leave the Skint Pit en masse. But knowing decisions made and not going to landfill (except migraine casualties) has made new bit happier.
Got WM load to peg out and then I will carry on with all the half eaten frogs.
Enjoy your Sunday and I will try to be less tardy on the new fred xxxThe cold never bothered me anyway8 -
Morning all!
Me too, Kaz
Valli, please send some rain down here - my poor garden is bone dry
Kazwookie, every energy provider has their own system, but basically you have to be over 18, not owe anything on your energy bill, and pass a credit check. This article is quite helpful.
Thanks pigpen - I was going to add a note in my parcel. Yes please, a few oddments of DK would be appreciated - but not more than an A4 envelope full, please, otherwise I shall have to turf something else out of my craft drawer (its contents are already reduced to the bare minimum) to make room for your hoardings
Round 1 completed:
- drank tea
- caught up with news and emails - nice to hear from a friend in Canada and my godson's mother in Germany
- ate breakfast with DH and actually had a sensible conversation with him about something I'd read on the BBC news website
- did the hokey cokey with the cucumbers, courgettes and tomato plants for hopefully the last time, if I can get hold of some growing bags
- emptied the kitchen bin
- started the DW
- S&S'd kitchen
- opened curtains and tidied LR
Now off to have my shower and then go to church.
M&S delivery expected later, fingers crossed that the undies fit comfortably!

Kaz, when we moved here we just phoned to sort out energy providers and asked them to change the meters at the same time.
Downstairs floors are swept, I've wudupa, shined the sink, cleaned the downstairs loo and done an exercise session. Just having a cuppa then I'll jump in the bath.Spend less now, work less later.10 -

Kaz.. I did when we moved here but that was 15 years ago.. I contacted the provider (british gas as it happened) and said I had never had arrears or a prepayment meter and I didn't want one now .. They barely even argued and came out and swapped it within a few days.

Yesterday.. I turfed all the non-bathroom stuff out of the bathroom.. and added a new shower caddy and tiny shefl unit so it looks lovely and cleanand tidy. OH cleaned the toilet floor.. the sink is still nasty.. but the floor is lovely.. and the cat had to roll on the floor once it was dry because clearly we used cat nip scented bleach.. he is the weirdest cat ever. We collected the tesco order and I flung that in the right places. I got paint for the hallway but it is matt.. I hate matt.. so I am having OH whizz it back later today so we can flop in the range and get the right one.. I thought it would be ok, but it is not, my head doesn't like it.
All the clean laundry got folded and put away and we dropped 3 stuffed binbags at my sisters friends for her 2 smalls.. I have a hallway almost ready to decorate.. I need to check in the shed for yellow paint for my sister and dig out some dark grey gloss.. I will get that done first..
So, today.. OH is dropping me at the range.. going to B&M for a refund or exchange on paint.. then picking me up with my (very few) purchases.. I need silly basic stuff .. minor things like.. a paintbrush.. and toothpaste..
I have also made a decision on the toilet.. the flooring can wait for a bit but I have seen some stick on squishy fake brisk tile things which will cover the majority of the nasty in there so they are next on my list.. I will sort the paintwork in there while doing the hallway.. unless I get carried away and do it sooner..
OH still has the kitchen ceiling to paint.. and he can demould the big girls room today too.. and show Meem how to do it so she can do it herself! He has a door to cut to size for in there too so I will boss him to get on with that next.. I LOVE being a slave driver lol.

Piggers
years ago I knew a cat who would go berserk is she smelt bleach - just as if it were catnip.
Up, showered and breakfasted. Full jug of fresh coffee flung because DS poured it into the filter and some wen outside the filter (and he used too much) because he's too sodding lazy to use a spoon. Bl00dy expensive fairtrade coffee it was too. *cross face*
It's stopped raining. The soil looks like it never got wet, now. *sigh*

Morning lovelies!
skint - sorry to hear about monster migraine, I get them, they are awful. Hope you are ok today
Pub quiz last night was such a laugh, decluttered some beer and vino
I'm very lucky to have a craft room but its a total disaster zone as I can't bear to get rid of anything and keep acquiring new stuff. Did some drunken ebay wool purchases last night. !!!!!!. I don't need any more. What is wrong with me. So anyway I want to declutter craft room but its a mammoth task so I'm thinking 10 minutes a day. Anyone else on here a crafter ? I will have lots of crafty and arty bits to rehome if any takers. I have excess of paper for cardmaking, metallic bits and bobs for mixed media, rubber stamps, stencils, loads more. So if anyone might be interested let me know and I can send it your way.
Today's jobs to be done:
- put away 2 loads dry laundry
- hang out two wet loads on airer
- walk the dog
- finish crochet bear no 1
- 10 mins tidying in craft room
- half hour tidying in garden
- go and sit on friends drive for socially distant cuppa for half an hour yay
See you all later,
