I think I answered this earlier but will tell you again:rolleyes: I am one of 4 children 3 girls and one boy. We along with my Mum and Dad lived in a 3 bed home. 3 girls ONE bedroom, brother OWN room Parents Own room. Now we all grew up perfectly fine. Three girls in one room was always going to cause some arguments but they never lasted more than a few mins. And NONE of us are permanently scarred or feel as if we were "deprived" I could fill pages with the fun and games we had in that room:rotfl: . The unoffical clothes borrowing:rotfl: We continue to be close:T
I am sorry but 3 bedrooms are adequate for your needs. Realisitcally how long will the 17year olds continue to live at home? Will they go away to college? move in with BF? or decide to Flatshare? Move away to work?? All scenarios.:D:j I have a persecution complex. Everytime I pass a shoe shop they persecute me till I buy them:j0 -
I thought I would add this into the mix as well. My Darling Dad was one of 7 Children living with his parents in a 2 up 2 down house with no bathroom and an outside toilet!!!!:D Ok this was just after the war, my Grandmother continued to live in that house until the early 80s and all my Dads family look back on there childhood with great memories and much laughter.
I agree that if more people were responsible for paying the rent they would be more inclined to go for smaller houses. My Mum had a saying which I have finally learnt the wisdom of "Cut your coat according to your cloth" Wanting and Needing are 2 different things!!! Its taken me a long time to learn that lesson;):j I have a persecution complex. Everytime I pass a shoe shop they persecute me till I buy them:j0 -

My Aunt had 4 boys in 1 large bedroom, 2 sets of bunk beds.
You cut your cloth according to your measure.
TBH, I don't even think councils should built 4 or more bedroom houses. I think its reasonable to limit your family to what you can house & if you are in council housing I think its unreasonable to expect the council to provide for a large brood. I do of course understand there will always be exceptions to the rule, like another room needed to house an elderly parent or other such circumstances.
Can I ask what you did with the money from your house sale?
I thought the council would not house people who made themselves homeless?0 -

Oh mother of pearl  you still don't get it do you!
You have not been shafted.
The bold part  i said that.
The only person who doesnt get it is you.
Which part of my post do you not understand that makes you come to think i was not shafted?Have you got a job yet?
NO? Then :shhh:0 -
There would be no problem putting 3 children in 1 room, you could even put a double bed and a single one in there and have wardrobes going along 1 wall, I think the generous benefit systems seems to have spoilt people cause if they had to pay rent out of their own money they wouldnt be too choosy in demanding a bigger house.
I think you will find I have said that the HB that I get is a waste and that that I would rather be paying a lesser amount out of my own pocket.Have you got a job yet?
NO? Then :shhh:0 -

Why on earth did you do this? Did you not find a home for your family before making the move to Weymouth?
Moving areas takes a lot of forward planning and I wouldnt be so stupid to just sell up and not have somewhere to live. I dont know where you came up with that at all. I had got a place sorted to live months before selling my house.
