Yes we stayed on the list. Housing down here changed after we moved in and list the proerties available every tues, which I look at religiously on the off chance of a 4 bed house.
So there is no point harrassing them as I did before we moved in here, in fact they were sick of the sight of me as I was in the office everyday.

Why do you not look at the 3 bed houses that become available then. This would be adequate for your needs. It might not be what you want but it is a realistic option.
Off the subject slightly I know of a family who were housed in a 4 bed house they had 5 children. The eldest when they were allocated this house was 16 youngest was 7. The three eldest children left home 1 to uni 1 to work and 1 to marry. This family still live in there Housing Association house even though it is too big for there needs. But they have no intention of downsizing

Not sure how you think a 3 bed is adequate. how are the 3 girls meant to fit in one bedroom?

Funnily enough quiet easily :rolleyes: when i was younger we only lived in a two bed house and strangely enough three of us girls shared a room...so why should your family be any different.

Fred did you not own your own home which you sold? How come you became the LA's responsibility to house?

Ok weymuffred since you have trouble understanding this post i will humour you for the moment.

Your house that you live in at the moment is the house we are talking about not any previous homes yes...follow me so far (just nod)

You and your family are adequately house at the moment yes...

The council did not see your family as high priority as guess what you are housed already so they allocated further 4 bed houses to families who need them yes...

So how do you explain that the council shafted you?

Now your landlord requires you to vacate the property so now your needs should be brought to the attention of the council, now they will assess your needs and as 4 bed houses are few and far between they might not be able to house you in a 4 bed but they may be able to house you with a 3 bed. The council cannot give you something that they do not have.

Fred did you not own your own home which you sold? How come you became the LA's responsibility to house?

The house that I sold was up north. I moved to dorset and private rented a property and at the same time signed onto the LA housing list.

Read my posts properly and it becomes obvious how we were shafted, and how the council housing works down here.
Where have I said "The council cannot give you something that they do not have."

We were 4 girls in 1 room 3 boys in another and parents in 3rd bedroom.
Also had neighbour in 2 bedroom house,family consisted of 4 girls ,2 boys and parents.

seven-day-weekend

My sister had four children and the three boys were in one room, the daughter in a tiny box room and the parents in the other bedroom. The boys had a set of bunk beds and a single.

This was their own house, not a rented one.
