Oh well, just had a phone call form the estate agent , telling me the house I was purchasing / have done searches ££ etc on, the vendors have pulled out! Had a feeling this was likely to happen owing to the lack of communications, so back to plan b etc, off to view 2 other properties this afternoon, with another 1 on Monday.Kitchen is doneWalk to beach is done, plus a beach clean took black sack and gloves, half filled it.MeandThe2 said:Today I need to do the following -

Round 1 done, plus I have emptied the food bin, poo picked in the garden & did a little weeding. I am now sitting at the allotment in the sunshine, contemplating where to start! I can't even decide where to plant anything!! I have been here nearly half an hour and pulled a few weeds! Is it too early for lunch? 😂 on the plus side, I have 2 nearly red strawberries! 😁🍓 I hope get them before the birds do!!

House has had a quick dust round and tidy up so I'll call that ready for the weekend
WM on for the 3rd time, but I've finished DD1s laundry, all ironed and folded too
Sent flowers to my step mum, florist was a bit surprised as she said most of her work has been funerals or to people who had lost loved ones so me wanting birthday message caught her of guard. How sad.
Lunch cooked and eaten
Ingredients found for tonight's dinner, will prepare it later
Still a bit cold to sit outside despite the sun so going to take a cup of tea and my book to the sofa

Well laptop slowly reviving. I've removed the battery and stuck it in the sun by a slightly open window. Just need the keypad to stop sticking and I might be able to log in. You will have to read between the lines to guess the issue
stripped and remade DS's bed. stripped mine. Docked I pad keyboard so can see what I'm typing now.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Bills paid.. 4 left for May to pay and I need to get Twinkles birthday presents, and Fabians.. 4 and 8 already!!!
In discussion with school about the girls going back.. I'm thinking they can stay home until September. 28% of those who died had diabetes.. I don't feel I can risk Boogs life for the sake of 4 weeks of school. yes he has a 90% chance of showing no symptoms or needing medical intervention.. he also has a 10% chance of being extremely unwell and 8% chance of dying.. (given age and diabetes) OH will happily go with whatever I decide but I really want him to have some input.. he is useless at this. If teachers are saying it isn't possible to open safely I think I trust their judgement on this.. even though my common sense tells me it can not be safe whatever they say. What are the fly-teachers/school staff thoughts on schools reopening?
Finally kicked OH's behind to speak to his mother.. only taken a week.
Oven trays all washed..
Kitchen needs blitzing again and I need clean bedding.
DW can be reloaded
WM's both filled but not yet full so can wait.. but space for bedding!

Afternoon fly friends!
Not done very much at all today - just pottered and had a nosy on FB.
Looks like the remortgage has been finalised which will free up a considerable amount of money each month, making life so much less stressful. My bother and his GF have named their baby, so she is no longer just "girlie".
Just off to check on the goats and chickens x7 -
Sorry about the house, kazw. Hope you find somewhere good very soon xx
Another day of fatigue and feeling cold that caused me to huddle under a blanket on the sofa for a couple of hours after lunch [zzz].
But I have received and paid for my greengrocery. I also phoned about the house insurance offer and they can't come near matching the renewal price from my present insurers, so that was an easy decision - I won't waste more time looking elsewhere.
Next:
- cuppa and cake with DH
- Rosie's walk
- an hour pottering in the garden
- evening meal
See you later xx7 -
Our Head has made it patently clear that we will not be reopening to fit a politician's narrative. The email was something along the lines of headteacher-speak for 'They haven't got a flaming clue what they're doing and I'm not about to risk it and drag you all in to make *somebody* look good in the media'. The number of bereavements and hospitalisations - and definitely not 'just' of the unimportant elderly, disabled or obese ones - experienced are awful. And the nonsensical mathematical equation they claimed determined the Alert Level wouldn't have helped. If they can't see on the Powerpoint that the equation was gibberish - or worse, thought that nobody was intelligent/educated enough to notice - why would a Head feel fully confident that everything is in hand?
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll10 -
Pigpen you are right about masks, but I wasnt allowed to see the consultant without it. All the damn thing did was make me want to touch my face. Have had an early night and been taking Echinacea and Vicks First Defence, sore throat has gone so fingers crossed.
Family funeral today held in the sunshine in the cemetery, it was actually a lovely service but very sad. We all felt like we needed to get out afterwards so took the bikes out, including DS1 which was amazing, he only managed 8 miles but you wouldnt believe he finished chemo just over 8 weeks ago.
JoJo I agree with your Head, and I know its tough for parents but I really question the wisdom of sending little ones back into school in a couple of weeks. My DS missed all of secondary school and didnt sit his GCSEs because of his health, not something I would recommend, but it hasnt actually done him any long term harm.
Well its been an emotional day, wont be late to bed.8 -
Sorry about the house kazwookie. The next one you find will be even better, speaking from experience.
Pigpen I'm uni not school, and SpLD assessing, but heard from manager today that she isn't really expecting assessments to be safe until October owing to small rooms, no windows and the need to sit quite close to the student so I can observe them and share resources. It's what I expected and i don't disagree. Fortunately HMRC and i came to roughly the same figure for the self-employed 'furlough'.
Did another long (for me) run this morning.
Planted out broccoli and kale.
Watered greenhouse, pots and new plantings.
Engineer for rural broadband came round to see how much of the garden they have to dig up, less than i feared.
Vacuumed study and bedroom.
Walked friend's dog.
Finalised Mr T order for tomorrow.
Mr I delivery early, in time for us to enjoy raspberry roulade and ice cream for dessert while watching Cats, this week's free musical theatre recording. Eek 1999, probably when i first saw it.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9
