After a bit of shuffling about with left over Xmas £ deposit is looking healthier at now £5659.47. Will def now get over 6k this month. I suspect this year will be much like last, most of the savings will be done in the first part and the second part will be about holding them. Ended up going to parents on NY day for a Chinese and a few drinks. Ended up sitting up to half one drinking gin with mum and setting the world to rights. Was nice to spend a bit of adult time with them just sitting chatting. Back to work tomorrow and really need to eat out of the freezer this week as it’s completely full, this will keep spending to a minimum anyway, I just never really enjoy eating things from the freezer for some reason or get much motivation from them! Back to work tomorrow but off on Friday as I have so much AL to get used up before of March. Problem is with restrictions I can’t really get cover so it’s a bit of a pain trying to sort. No car insurance payment this month, so that’s gone into a savings pot to go towards paying it off in full this time.0

Down to £80 now til 2 weeks today for groceries/ spending. Bought 2 books today in Asda to read in lunchtimes at work. Getting a sense of deja vu here, one of my friends did my head in during the last lockdown and she’s started again. Suddenly an expert on the restrictions and dishing out her unwanted opinion about the fact I physically go to work.0

Plus she’s been entertaining breaking the rules and now she thinks I who have been adhering too them shudnt be going to work when I am a key worker that has no choice !0

Doing my bit and staying in this weekend, won’t be out again until Monday morning to go to work. Good for the bank account also and it’s also freezing, best to stay in the warm. Trying to stick to meals from ingredients already in the house. Making lentil soup tomorrow for lunches. Got my car insurance quote through £390. Going to pay it off in one go so savings will prob be less this month as some planned savings will have to go towards that but I will benefit in the long run and can start saving towards next year. Off work most Fridays now until end of March so that I should spend less on petrol over the next while and to be honest I’m trying to be out the house as little as possible auto reduce any risk of getting or spreading, it’s bleak out there.1

Plan for tonight is few glasses of red, finishing Paula that I found on I player and trying the cabins under a couple of blankets on the settee. Grateful to be healthy, content and warm.1

Bleak times, going to focus on losing weight and also starting to read again to keep me amused. Going to try and read 12 books this year, one a month should be doable. Noting on here will keep me accountable for both. This months book is Out for Blood by Deborah Masson. So currently 0/12 Books and 6/ 106 Lbs to lose0

The circle of madness continues, the board to make a decision on whether or not to close the site I work at and relocate it to head office, meaning I’ll go from being a site manager to just a supervisor and essentially be looking at possible redundancy as there is already another supervisor there who could do both. I would love 5 mins peace instead of the constant uncertainty, stress and rollercoaster of 2020 and now looks like 2021 will be too. The importance of having an emergency fund is more true than ever. That’s one thing 2020 has taught me, when I get my mortgage I’ll be even more paranoid about having and retaining a good one. In today’s dreamland in my head today I was imaging using leftover mortgage deposit savings for a Peloton Treadmill and putting that in Bedroom 3 lol. Came out of work early today, use up some more hours plus wasn’t feeling great. Not sure if I’m getting something or it’s just a symptom of everything going on. Either way could sleep for a week. Going to finish off Traces and hide under a blanket.0

Sorry to read that Lantanna - I think that sort of constant low level stress, low as in it might happen rather than the panic from it will - is incredibly wearing and probably why you need to sleep. Be kind to yourself and try to find some treat for the. Weekend, a new book, a magazine, just something a bit indulgent.0
