I know how you feel, my beloved little dog Rip Pip meant that I had great difficulty selling two cars as the seats were  covered in little white hairs that just would not shift. She was worth it though

Declaring my savings early for payday on Friday, hasn’t been the best month for saving. I’ve been very spendy, clothes, weekend away booked for the end of the month and just joined a new gym. Getting really bored in the evenings and that combined with the fact that I’m not losing any weight has made me head back to the gym. Albeit a different cheaper one.   So I’ve basically only added about £215 to the deposit pot. Oh well, I need to live to, hopefully be able to salvage some more savings after my weekend away.
    Mortgage deposit total now £5535

Really going to have to knuckle down now and get back to saving. Feel like I’ve lost my focus a bit.   Need to start watching some savings vids on you tube again and stay in. All I want to do is go out And spend £ though lol.
  • I’m dreadful at savings, are there any videos you recommend? 2 weeks to pay day here and I shouldn’t spend anything else at all ...

I love watching saving for house deposit ones and frugal living, I haven’t found anybody I really rate yet apart from Lara Joanna Jarvis, she’s got loads on a no buy year and saving for a deposit. Hazel Maria Wood has some good ones as well, but I find her a bit less relatable as she saved her deposit while living with parents. It’s normally 2 weeks to payday when I start to wonder what I’ve done with it. I was meant to be off on Friday but I’ve decided to work it as it if I’m off I’ll end up out spending money.

After reviewing figures today, lots of belt tightening to be done. The next 2 weeks need to be angelic before my weekend away. Also realised its a 5 week month for me.  Scary how fast we are approaching the end of the year and dare I say it Xmas.

You’ve done amazingly well. I think you can forgive a spendy month given how disciplined you’ve been...

Good shout on using the trip away as a motivator over the next couple of weeks. You’ll probably find you come back with more drive to keep the spending down and save when you return. That’s how I feel after a short hiatus from clearing the debt.

    Haha...the dreaded C word...

Thanks Ryan, I’m hoping that the break gets me refocused too. It will be all worth it in the end when we reach our goals and look back
