Thanks Buffy, I love the idea of have a little flexible savings for pocket money. Great idea. Ur right perseverance is key. I might have to get a little spendy at some time this month as I need some new warmer jumpers for work. Savings won’t be affected though, once it goes into savings I never take it out again.

On a plus I do feel a little bit better mentally today. Was saying to a friend that I’ve had a big ball in my stomach of anxiety for about a week now and I don’t no why. I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that things are so uncertain at work and a lot depends on what happens with our customers budgets mostly councils which is outside of our control. Throw into the mix that I’ve done two stupid things recently makes me feel a bit vulnerable.

Interesting afternoon, got told my job is secure, as secure as one can be right now but only at my current location for 12 to 18 months. Funding runs out for the current lease etc at my current premises then and only if the capital can be raised through customer increases that they are working on now could it continue. Personally I can’t see them getting the increases they are asking for.  If it doesn’t work I’ll move back to the central office. I know that would be a step back for me and I’m not exactly sure what responsibility I would have, plus I’m a big believer in you don’t go backwards but forwards.  So at least I no I’ve got time to hunt if things don’t work out.  Funnily enough I’m not bothered. I do think there’s a move to a new employer in me and a new challenge over the next couple of years so I don’t feel like stressing about any of it right now. This year has taught me anything can happen.  At least I’ll be in a position to financially deal with any periods out of work if need be in the future. This time last year I couldn’t have said that so I’m happy about that. I’m just going to have to wait and see how things pan out in order to find the right time to buy a house.  It has felt good to get my feelings down on here. It actually feels good as well to say to myself it’s ok if you don’t buy it next year as long as you keep saving the £.  Feels like a bit of pressure has lifted.  Sometimes my own expectations of myself are worse than other people’s.

I’ve made it to the end of the week, thank goodness.  I feel a good bit better, not 100 % but getting there.  Feeling better about my work mistake now.  Il get there.
Took myself to Starbucks and H & M yesterday, bit naughty but much needed. I spent a lot like £140 but I did need new bits for work.  Also went to primark today and that was £50. That will keep me going now for a while and I needed a few bits for going away at the start of October for a weekend with a friend.   I’m sure I’ll need some more stuff before Xmas but I’m staying out of the shops again for now.
My plan for tomorrow is to sort through some clothes and shoes try and see exactly what I have.  I need to sort out my Sept budget too ( payday on the 20th ) and I’ve to factor in that weekend away into that. Septs savings will be low but at least there will be some.
  • Sometimes a good shop sets us up for a while. Happy new things!
I’m glad about the job and that you are feeling better.

Thanks Suzanne, I had a great lie in this morning too and planning another one tomorrow.
  • Oh well done. I was outside in my nightie and coat at 6am as the dog needed a wee 🙄

Things have settled down, heading towards payday again next Friday and budget planned.  I have spent quite a bit on clothes this month and have my trip away planned at the start of October so savings aren’t as they normally would be but I feel like I deserve both. Off today having a long weekend and going out for lunch with sister and nieces. Not much else planned which is good as I need to keep spending to a minimum now for going away.

Just popping back on to say it felt great today to have some new clothes to go out in it def improved my mood. Def not going back to a blanket ban on clothes buying it doesn’t do my mental health any good. Going forward il factor a moderate allowance into my budget.
  • An excellent idea, new clothes do always boost your mood.
I have pets and nothing ever looks as good once I’ve washed it in a hairy washer, plus I hate to iron 😬
