Why do we get the same type of newbies over and over again? They post a question, don't get the answers they expect, then start to type in upper case and get otherwise aggressive, then disappear again eventually.

I NEED a bank account but im not in the process of trying to open one as i DONT HAVE ANY ID OR DOCUMENTS!!!!!
Then decide which bank you want an account with and then double-check their two lists so that you are ready.

I do not have a birth certificate in my name.   And yet I can open up an account easily.  You're making a mountain out of the proverbial molehill.

Decide which bank you want your account with and then check from their two lists.  simple.  :)

Looks like you need to start at the beginning and work your way through all the steps - get your birth certificate and work through getting the name change to catch up with what you use.  It will be a nuisance and drawn out, but perfectly possible, step by step.
Yeah that's probably my only route, it's morals stopping me from obtaining the birth certificate for reasons i won't go into.

I appreciate that happens.  However, doing this properly and getting a passport in your own name will be the most effective way of finally and thoroughly getting your birth name off the system, out of your hair and never thought of again. At the moment your name is causing you problems and you need to think about the fact you had a birth name.  Get this properly sorted and you can enjoy burning the birth certificate and your birth name will stop affecting your life this way.

Why not start out by getting a savings account?
I've just looked at the Lloyds Bank website.  They offer an Easy Saver account which you should be able to open online.  To do that they say:

    You'll need to be:

    • a UK resident.
    • over 16 years old

    You'll also need:

    • your addresses for the last three years

The account offers a rubbish interest rate (0.01%) but it starts a relationship with the bank.

Now this a very valid question.  But I don't think you will get an answer

So you've sponged off your friends for 20 years!   rather than get a birth certificate with a  name on it that you do not like.
You may not have had your name changed legally as this information states  only that you MAY be asked for proof of the change. So it could have been changed without any proof supplied.

How to make your own deed poll

    Use the following wording:

“I [old name] of [your address] have given up my name [old name] and have adopted for all purposes the name [new name].

“Signed as a deed on [date] as [old name] and [new name] in the presence of [witness 1 name] of [witness 1 address], and [witness 2 name] of [witness 2 address].

“[your new signature], [your old signature]

“[witness 1 signature], [witness 2 signature]”

A specialist agency or a solicitor can make the deed poll for you instead - they may charge a fee.

After you’ve made it, you can use your deed poll as proof of your new name.
