  • I managed to get 4 Wiis from the help on this thread for family and friends.
It certainly livened up xmas for all the family. Even the youngest of kids can play, imagine the sight of a 7 year old girl beating her dad on the boxing??? Even the grandparents enjoyed watching the fun and games. Well worth the money.
Has anybody any idea if amazon are still putting them up as a uncle is desperate for one after playing the golf

Anyone know of any good prices on guitar hero (with guitar)? £69.99 at Play.com is the cheapest I can find.
    2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j
  • Mrs webuserisme and me have never been 'gamers' but we have played the Wii (as a family, as well, got sons aged 18 and 16) constantly since Xmas. Nintendo have completely turned the console market on its head by drawing in people like us who wouldn't have dreamt of buying a console before. We genuinely don't care about graphics, processor power, blu-ray, HD blah blah blah, we just like family fun. The Wii (brilliantly) provides that IMHO. It's maybe a lesson for Microsoft and (especially) the arrogant Sony for their next efforts.

  • i ordered a wii package (£255) from argos for home delivery yesterday, had to wait till this morning for the confirmation email, but all seems fine for delivery on thurs.
when speaking to the woman on the phone (to double check order!!) she said they had rec'd a massive delivery so stock wasn't a problem - although it seems to be in the stores near me!
Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Mortgage-free Glee!
Well we absolutely love ours and have aching arms and shoulders and a huge backlog of recorded TV to prove it. :j

I ordered it on impulse from Argos and it arrived on time with all its bits, including a docking station, Resident Evil, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Super Mario Galaxy  .

We then discovered we really needed a second remote & nunchuk so we went into town and bought them in the first shop we tried (Gamestation). I can't believe it was all so relaxed and laid back and easy - I'm usually the one panicking and rushing around on Christmas Eve because something hasn't arrived from Amazon or somewhere  . When I read all the problems some posters have had I almost feel guilty that we had it so easy when weren't even desparate to get one, just saw that they were available and thought oh what the hell, we can always sell it if we don't use it :rotfl:

By Boxing day evening we decided none of us fancied Super Mario Galaxy (too cute and babyish!) so at 10.30 that night I put it on Amazon and when I got up the next morning it had sold. With the proceeds we bought Winter Sports 2008 which is great - the toboganning is like being in a simulator!

It really is a present for all the family - I've beaten DH at golf (:p ), DS1 is baseball king, his GF rocks at tennis, and even DS2 (who is an emo and more likely to be found sitting in a corner thinking suicidal thoughts) has perked up and beats us all at 10 pin bowling. DS1 thinks he IS Harry Potter and emo DS2 has found his spiritual home in Resident Evil.
All in all a very satisfactory impulse buy! :T
Oh dear, here we go again.

Ours has seen a lot of use since Christmas day, so definately a hit here. Big Brain academy is popular but the winner for us is Lego Star Wars. I'm not a Star Wars fan but it's a great game and I'd recommend it to anyone. Both of my children (5 & 8) love it too.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
