I found it great fun for involving all the family from 6 to 60+
Have only played the Sports games so far but looks good on a 40" LCD using the supplied lead. Have an extra controller which is a must in my opinion.
I think its perfect for the market it is aimed at.
  • I think it's a fantastic machine with some superb games - the key thing is that it puts gameplay over graphics. Super Mario Galaxy, as just one example, blows the socks off of anything that the PS3 and 360 have to offer.

But I guess we should keep this thread on-topic and not drift off into the realms of console bashing. Everyone's tastes are different.

Xbox Live just has nothing to compete with it elsewhere.
Then you haven't played Day of Defeat:Source online. Once you've bought the game (for about a tenner or less) you can play online for FREE for as long as you like. None of this monthly membership fees to Microsoft!!!

BTW - just had ANOTHER Wii auction cancelled early on me on Ebay - I think the sellers have finally realised the game is up and are returning them to the place they bought them, otherwise they will lose loads on Ebay!!

EDIT - Just checked on Ebay and Wii consoles appear to be going for £190-£230 at the minute!! Rather bizarre but there you have it - no accounting for buying habits.

Well we have really enjoyed playing as a family with assorted kids

Raving Rabbids is hilarious, Brain Training is fun
Started metroid on my own - its ok but sure the 360 has better :)
  • Kids had fun with Play although I didn't think that much of it. Not too impressed by Big Brain Academy either. Now the kids are in bed away to try chicken Shoot.
No shortage of Wiis in Angus area spotted them in Argos and in Woolworths.
I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!
  • My girlfriend got one for xmas. Spent most of boxing day going around the shops looking for a 2nd Wii Remote. Everywhere was sold out, so we have had to play the games where you can pass the remote.

Played Guitar Hero III and it is very addictive. I now have to tell my boss why I have RSI when I get back to work. :)

I think its tacky junk with awful graphics and a very steep boredom curve.

Personally I would recommend an Xbox 360 for long term value everytime. Especially for anyone who plays online gaming - Xbox Live just has nothing to compete with it elsewhere.

Most bearable Wii game is probably Super Mario Galaxy.

Well, much as I understand that, if you are on your own its not much good compared to PS2/3 XBox (as I was for a long period of my life), if you are in a multi player competitive situation... dream on, nothing beats it.

I wrote games in the 80's in machine code, and this is the spark that will bring us proper gaming.and it is next generation- next stop we will have nuchucks on our feet and living in the game .... watch that space people... end of sore thumbs and fat bellys.... time to play - need another Wii for my mate in Merseyside area please.

I do have 2 controllers spare.... (Got 4 and my brother bought 2 aswell) but I can't sell them here.

Priceless family fun- screw Bill Gates - how I enjoyed all the full shelves in Toys r Us full of XBox ripoff stuff... while the Wii & PS2 shelves were empty... in you face Bill you T**t... I bet he's got a Wii... oh sorry he has noone to play it with :rotfl:

I'm on my own and the games for the Wii still knock the stuffing out of the games for the PS2/3 & XBox.

me and my sister got a Wii for Christmas.

We had so much fun playing Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. The shooting and rowing games are a bit tough though!
