If only more retailers were like John Lewis then perhaps you wouldn't have the Wii Shortage? I quite like their one per customer rule, in fact I haven't bought from them because it wasn't worth the hassle considering they would only sell me one.

The problem with JL is that their rules are unclear as to the time period.
Amazon for example will allow you to buy any quantity which is wrong considering they know the supply problems, but do they care? No they don't, because they get their money regardless of who buys what amount.

No they don't, Amazon's limit is three per customer per month.
I can tell you the Wii eBay bubble has burst. Took me 5 days to get rid of my last three at a decent price, I kept having to shill bid so it didn't sell at a price that the profit was low. If I was doing it, then plenty of others were too.

You're admitting to shill bidding, something which Ebay don't allow?

And what do you call a 'decent price'?

How on earth can they cancel it once they've told you it's been despatched? That's just adding insult to injury.

If JL did anything similar to me there would be hell to pay ........

    I know!

They told me that as they were loading for delivery at my end that morning, it was checked off against 'a list' and it had come to light that one had already been delivered to that address, so it had been stopped and was being sent back. (There was almost a one month gap)

She told me she was very sorry, but NIntendo would not let them send more than one to each customer.

I knew then it was a load of cobblers, but hey ho. As I've said I'm OK now, I've had what I need..just addicted.;)
  • just got a message to say my wii is depatched today. i ordered it last night. talk about fast!
  • Priorities arent that high then!

the worst thing is, i've been sitting with the laptop open on my lap for the past hour!

i was left exhausted last night after costant F5-ing and flicking back and forth and STILL didn't get one. am taking a more laid back approach tonight i think. got tomorrow off work too, so if nothing materialises tonight, will go on a 'wii hunt' tomorrow...;)
