  • You have 18 days left to buy a Wii.

This is my guide to buying one from ebay

Wii supply is there, and prices have dropped. I can tell you that sellers are bidding their own Wii's up. The 25th is getting near for them also, and they don't want to be left with stock!

The best time to buy is Friday evening, and all day Saturday and Sunday, as that's when the prices seem to drop.

Anyone local to you? That way you can collect and pay cash, and also see exactly what you're buying.

If receiving by post then please ensure you buying from someone who has paypal buyer protection of £500. Check their feedback as well (although you can't always go by this). Always use paypal. Bank transfer gives you no protection at all!!

Read the auction listing word for word. Is it new? Or used? Has it a UK moulded plug? Or is it an import? What I'm saying is know exactly what you're buying.

I've been aware of the real ebay prices since October. If you buy on the days I've said you should pay no more than £210. Special delivery costs £19.45 on these, and that's without the packaging!, so don't be surprised to pay £25 for P&P

No they won't close you account, I know people who have been caught (but they are powersellers) and they were just reminded of the policy. I do it because of the reserve price fees, ebay and paypal have done very nicely out of me recently.

Interesting, Ebay's help page on Shill bidding states:

Breaches of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:
    • Listing cancellation
    • Limits on account privileges
    • Account suspension
    • Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
    • Loss of PowerSeller status
    • Being reported to the Police
Spend a few minutes taking eBay's tutorial on Shill bidding.
If you believe that another member is raising the price or desirability of an item artificially by shill bidding please report it to us. Please provide the user IDs and the item numbers in question.
The people you know were obviously lucky that they got off so lightly.

It is brand new, well at least it better be :rotfl: only asking what I paid for it, original receipt will be provided. I know you can get them for £180 + free delivery I was lucky enough to do that last night on Amazon and when I tried to cancel from topvision they said it was already on its way. I have read posts from a lot of disappointed people who have been trying for ages to get one hence my offer but never mind I'll stick it in the local rag.

So you have suddenly remembered that its against the rules to advertise your goods for sale on here :T

No, I didn't bother. That's when I knew they were just making excuses & I wouldn't get anywhere, they'd just think of another. I just shopped elsewhere. :D

I wonder what JL would have done if they discovered you had already ordered one AFTER they sent another to you? Ask for it back?

Just been offered a chipped one with 10 games for £320 delivered but don't know if I should or not ???

AFAIK you can't chip any Wii made since August, so is this 2nd hand?

    Personally I would pass

Well try doing a little bit of research from this long thread and use it to obtain one. Many others have used this information along with members giving pointers and alerts to available Wii's
Don't just sit there and expect someone handing it to you
