Hi
I was one of the few that ordered a Wii from tesco and it showed out of stock but allowed me to put it in my basket and check out. I have been waiting with baited breah to see if it would actually materialise.
I received an email to say that it had been dispatched. Next thing I know, I open the front door and there it is. The package just sitting outside my house.
My husband had come in just 30 minutes earlier and it wasn't there then. No knock on the door or any sign. Obviously I was more pleased that it had arrived and that my endless hours on this forum, the hours F5 ing my favourites, etc had paid off but really, anyone could have taken it.
I ALSO JUST WANTED TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM THAT HAS POSTED THEIR TALES OF SUCCESS AND FAILURE. I DID NOT THINK I WOULD GET ONE AT THE RRP AND THIS SIDE OF CHRISTMAS.
PERSEVERE. IT'S WORTH IT. :T0 -
Too slow (again), it showed as in stock and i clicked the 1 click order button about 15 times but kept saying that the item wasn't available.0

They cross check everything, addresses, email addresses, credit cards etc etc. I was buying for my sister & they wouldn't even let me change the address & give her credit card details whe I contacted them on the phone.
How on earth can they cancel it once they've told you it's been despatched? That's just adding insult to injury.
If JL did anything similar to me there would be hell to pay ........0 -

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL0 -
I'd have created a real stink as JL's rules are very unclear on the matter. It states one per customer, but not the time period. Is it one per customer per order? One per customer per week? One per month? One per year?
If only more retailers were like John Lewis then perhaps you wouldn't have the Wii Shortage? I quite like their one per customer rule, in fact I haven't bought from them because it wasn't worth the hassle considering they would only sell me one.
Early on I found an outlet that had a one per visit rule.... all it meant was I had to put the Wiis through on seperate transactions:rotfl: , or buy, put in car, buy, put in car, buy etc etc
Amazon for example will allow you to buy any quantity which is wrong considering they know the supply problems, but do they care? No they don't, because they get their money regardless of who buys what amount.
I can tell you the Wii eBay bubble has burst. Took me 5 days to get rid of my last three at a decent price, I kept having to shill bid so it didn't sell at a price that the profit was low. If I was doing it, then plenty of others were too.0 -
