Just an update from me -
I am a sole trader and have a HSBC personal current account so was applying under these terms. Had to supply a copy of my 2018/2019 self assessment return.
Applied May 4th got an application number straight away.

Heard nothing until today and have just received my email to say the BBL application has been accepted with a link echo sign to sign the documentation. They will be paying the loan into my personal current account.

Not sure how long I have to wait for the funds but wanted to give some other people hope that things are moving albeit slowly.

I'm with Lloyds and we applied for a BBL on our holding company and anther director at the exact same time applied for one on his holding company with HSBC.   I required no signatures or anything beyond the input and the money was in the account about 22 hours later.    The other director received an email requiring an electronic signature and his money turned up 48 hours later.

So, it appears that HSBC are a little slower than some others and have an extra hoop to jump through with the echo sign signature.

  • All sounding a bit more positive. Thanks for the info everyone. Good luck and let’s hope we see the money in our accounts in the next couple of days!

I have not had any email from echosign, I have a business account with HSBC, so just wondered anyone know if this means  I have been accepted and when I will get this email.  I have contacted Hsbc but got the old "cannot tell you when".

    Any ideas , anyone?

Out of interest when you first applied did you get a confirmation email or anything? It seemed to go through on the site and I got a reference number etc, but not received an email or anything since.. Applied on the 7th, so judging by other people's time frames expect to hear something Friday or Monday. Just hope there isn't a communication breakdown in regards to email.

I went through the application and got a application ID number which I jotted down and that was it. No other emails or communication until today when I got the email containing the link to sign the documentation. I applied in the 4th and only heard today. It’s just taking time. I still don’t know when I’ll receive the funds. Hoping it won’t be too much longer. Hope that helps
  • For us, from day of application, it took 8 days for the echosign email to arrive.  Further my last post about the account number being incorrect, I chatted with HSBC online and they assured me as long as it was correct on the application it would be fine.  This guy was completely wrong, we received a second echosign email this morning saying there was an administrative error and we have to sign again.  Whether  we are now at the back of the queue I don't know!
  • I did not get a confirmation letter only the echo sign email on the 7th and still waiting :(
