Has anyone noticed that they’ve changed the application process and now when you enter your annual turnover the website automatically calculates 25% of that and fills in the loan amount? I didn’t apply for my full 25% and I now regret it (I didn’t know whether I as going to be considered based on the amount requested so went for a lower figure). Does anyone know if they would consider a top up loan of some sort to match the 25%? FYI it’s well below £50K.
I applied two days after the scheme opened and it automatically filled the 25% by default, so it was always that way as I had to apply twice due to me putting the wrong sort code in.
hope everyone gets their funds soon 🙏
  • Applied 07/05. Received and signed 19/05. Still waiting for funds to appear in account as of today (22/05). Looks like it is going through, but really not good enough considering this is meant to be an emergency loan to keep businesses going.

Only thing I can think in HSBC's defense is that the date the scheme opened they were pretty much the only bank happy to take on new customers, and one of the few that would let you apply through a personal account, so I think they've just been hit by so many applications they don't know what to do with them. Ironically we're entering a bank holiday weekend, which will mean further delays for those that need it sorted.

I swear to God that it wasn’t like that for me. I had to manually enter an amount. I wouldn’t have asked for less if the website had automatically filled the amount in for me. Hope you get yours soon!

Applied with HSBC on the 6th for a feeder account. Called them for the first time today (22nd) and they had no record of my application. So have had to start the process again with them.
I wanted to apply with Starling but I won't now as I'm a sole trader and Starling will reject me just on that basis, so just threw card away when it arrived yesterday.

It’s all a new system so it’s possibly changing all the time .
I have to say HSBC have been pretty good considering all the applications they must have had and from start to finish under 2 weeks.
I also considered Starling but it looks like that would have been a bad move judging by some comments on here, hope everyone gets a result ASAP

  • Just been on their helpline (8th Time) and each time I get a different story...:s  This time it was 'No news is good news. It means if we haven't asked for more information from you its progressing well'.....Really!!....What a joke!

    Hi Guys
Spoke to HSBC yesterday. It seems that no one can talk direct to the BBLS department. The gentleman I spoke to wanted to launch a complaint. As many might think I didn't want to as being a troublemaker you think they may reject!!
His reply was this was not acceptable and wanted to proceed with the complaint.
I have run a limited company for 5 Years through HSBC. The company does OK but 40% of my work is in Pubs so things are very tight.
Had a phone call yesterday from HSBC with a great lady who thought it was wrong the way the business has been treated..
After a few minutes of conversation she told me that even if you inputed some basic errors ie email address (guilty) that HSBC will only use the information held on your account as point of contact. When I said I had been asked to re-apply twice she said this is the wrong information to give out. If you are with HSBC they will use your contact info on your bank account.
In short thy haven't been good but still waiting!!!!!!
