I think the theme here is CIS payments.
Rightly or wrongly, it seems people who have the majority of their "self employed" income via CIS are being rejected.
When anyone on here gets to speak to someone at mhrc to find out what is going on can they let us know please.  i.e. is it really true that CIS employees don't count?  or is it a bug in the system?

It is NOT true that CIS sub contractors don't count for the Gov SEISS scheme.  They ARE self employed and NOT employees.  There appears to be a bug in the online checker for the scheme.  It is probably having difficulty with the amount of people checking.  Trying checking early morning or late evening when it may not be as busy.

I was under the impression that you have to be contacted by HMRC before you could check. Have i got that right. i have not been contacted this week but know of a few people that have.
Can i use the checker or do i have to wait ?

You can use the checker straight away, you don't need to wait.

Thank you for confirming that.  So hopefully the others in that situation who have been told no, will get it sorted.
