Just watch El Camino, the movie sequel to Breaking Bad.

There's a great 'where's the money hidden' search in it.

TBF tho, you may have to watch Breaking Bad 1st or El Camino will spoil everything, haha

Looking through some items we managed to take from the house, and we found bundles of £100... The old £10 notes so dad must have done this prior 2015.
So far they have been in vases, an old fashioned twisty cigarette ashtray and in amongst some old photos in the actual photo wallet (good job I looked through them.....)
    I've never hid/hoarded money, so I'm guessing there's more I don't want to miss /throw out.
Husband said to even lift carpets, but do people really do that?
I'm guessing yes, based on this.

    I wish you luck.

My grandmother hid cash in among the sheets and towels in the airing cupboard.

I'm just clearing a house too and have been disappointed at how little we've found - about £85 and I've a couple of old fivers to pay in next time I get to a bank.  I did find a jar with about 9 quid in 20ps.  My parents had the largest wardrobe known to humanity - full of bedding etc. - in the house when they bought it as it was too large to remove and will remain there when we sell it too - and my sister and I went through every single blasted sheet, pillowcase, towel and table cloth and didn't find a penny.  We were convinced it was Mum's hiding place.

I've heard under the jacket of a hot water cylinder was a favourite from several people clearing houses and finding dosh in those.  And several reports of carpet corners and stair carpets - especially, where they were looser carpets with stair rods.

A feature with people with dementia seems to be wrapping things in tissues.  Never throw out screwed up tissues without a quick check - in those could be special things hidden away such as money or jewellery.  Or even just false teeth - getting those replaced can be a nightmare!

Be careful though, as I've known people with dementia wrap some very unsavoury things in tissues too!
    It's not difficult!

I know someone has already mentioned kickboards in the kitchen, also look for loose tiles etc in the kitchen/bathroom/pantry etc.

My grandma had money under the jacket of the hot water tank. Although it was really old notes and mum thought it might have actually been from the previous owners from 40 odd years before! Wasn't a huge amount though.

My fil is a stasher. He kept notes in a margerine tub in the loft. Until mice made a nest in it. Now he has a metal tin in his garage I believe.

My dad is also a bit of a money hoarder. But in lots of different bank accounts rather than cash.

My granny said her mum used to keep notes in a tin up the chimney.
