  • Behind the hot water cylinder?
  • Taped to the underneath of drawers, and furniture is a common one isn't it.  Behind the base boards of fitted kitchen units, on top of kitchen units.  Someone on here even suggested fitting false pipes in the under-sink cupboard.

I started stashing cash at one time as a 'prepping' measure but months later started stumbling across stashes I'd completely forgotten about so decided the bank was probably best for someone with a colander memory.

An odd one but if he had a bath behind the bath panel
    in photo frames with pictures
    in cans
    pill bottles/ dim canisters
bottom of drawers taped in envelopes

all might seem far fetched but they are hiding places

many many years ago a friends cousin bought an empty house (owner had died), when they came to take the old bathroom out there was a substantial amount of money wrapped in plastic in the top of the toilet tank ( i dont know what they did with it)

About a decade ago following a bad leak at my Nan's flat she came to stay with us for about a week or so. On her second or third day here she announced to my husband that she either had £3,000 or £4,000 under the bed (she couldn't remember the correct amount!). So we went round and yes sure enough, there they were in very large brown envelpes, several of them, so look through any stationery too!

I once read in the news about a lady who bought her mum a new mattress unawares that her mum had hidden many thousands of pounds in the old one that she had taken to the tip! I'd check attick, airing cupboard, suitcases, shed, any storage jars or boxes, behind mirrors, clothing pockets ( especially inside zip up ones) and maybe even inside books.

After my elderly aunt died my cousin was emptying the house and started folding some heavy sitting room curtains to take to the charity shop.  A corner of one curtain 'clunked' against a table.  On investigating she found a substantial amount of valuable jewellery sewn into the deep hem of the curtain.
