  • Am taking back my post about paying an extra £200 off at the end of this month - have just booked a holiday to go to Nice with my friend for five days in July. It does jeopardise my £20k total by December but hey, there is lots of time and I will just have to work that bit harder. I am so excited about the holiday and it is just what I need.

Amazingly the second we booked our flights I got super motivated at work and feel more keen for money saving too - so the odd treat now and then does work wonders.

Morning everyone, hope everyone's ok. My payments have really slowed down. Had another book sell on Amazon but its the small stuff now and the profit is about 1.50. I know I shouldn't grumble. Really need to get my backside into listing the box of stuff I have for ebay. Mostly Bravissimo stuff so should go well. Just need a kick up the whatsit to motivate me!
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Well done everyone and especially Wilkster that should make a big dent in your debt..I agree also with poorandindenial with regards to the treats as being totally stringent does wear you down..it's hard though to find the right balance...we are all getting there at our own pace
  • HI all the savers out here. I am extremely new to this but am sick of having no money and lots of debt. I know it is almost May, but is it too late to join this? I realise i may not get very far. So would love to at least try my best. Say £10k.

I need all the help i can get though because i have no idea how to raise this much. I dont really have anything i can sell, my company does not pay overtime.......... so suggestions please!!!!

    Thank you

hi ejs check out the money making board for ideas. But for starters do you have a hobby you can make money from? Could you do kleeneze/Avon/ann summers etc? Try free bingo, matched betting (not gambling!)? Use quidco/pigsback etc to earn for clicks and get cash back on purchases. Mystery shopping? Is there anything you could make to sell? Also find anything you have that you don't need, use or love and put it on ebay or do a car boot - people buy anything! And use vouchers, bogof, comparison sites to make your salary go further. Hope that helps you get started - welcome aboard!
  • Hi everyone & welcome to ejs:D
Hubby got paid today, so have been able to put £200 towards rainy day savings
Poorandindenial, lucky you! I hope you have a lovely time:D I really, really need a holiday, have had 3 days in Weymouth in the last 18 months! & with Hubby being away since February & my Mum dying in the last year, getting tired, with the strain of looking after 2 children, grief, my dad & cooking for my Nan & part time job, with very minimal help from anyone!
Would love to just book something to have something to look forward to, but have no idea what's happening with Hubbys job at the moment, so it will have to wait:( I hope it does you the world of good!
Well done & keep going everyone else, I looked at the Ebay thread about what will sell & realised I've got a really nice cannon ixus camera ( non digital ) that the flash stays popped out on, still works, may list that:rolleyes:
Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

  • Just had amusing moment where I logged onto my intenet banking to check the balance of my account and my (not clear) credit card was showing as £Nil. I got overexcited and thought I was the lucky recipient of a banking error, but then I went into the statement and realised it was just nil while they were printing the statements. Gutted. I still owe over £5000. Oh well, back to plan A. lol.

  • Hi everyone and welcome to ejs2602.

My payments for this month (and last month) have gone through so I can finally update my signature. Still way off target, but it's looking (a little) healthier.

Work's still busy, but the main thing that's taken all my time the last couple of weeks is over, so I'm trying to get my head back to the challenge now.

    How's everyone else doing?

    Polly
