That's not a personal comment of course!

MoneySeeker1 said:Not much longer then. I don't know about the whole country - but a Welsh radio station had a news item today saying how upset Welsh hairdressers are that, when they are allowed to open for business again on 1 June, they will only be allowed to have one customer at a time in the shop for the time being.
Cue for promptly ringing up the solo hairdresser nearby I'd identified prior to Lockdown as the one I would be swopping to Afterwards and telling her this news item and making an appointment for 1 June. She hadn't known that - but was clearly about to break out the champagne by the sound of how pleased she is to be able to open again at all and says she'll alert others about this. Duly said I'm not bothered from my own pov about what she does - but can wear a mask just for that visit if she is concerned for herself.
So I guess this will apply to the rest of the country and not just Wales.
A decision is to be made at the end of this week after considering the relevant figures of infection.4 -
Oh moneyseeker, or whatever you are calling yourself today, don't ever change. You are priceless! Whatever are we going to do for fun if you ever run out of new ways to irritate people.
I am still hugging "modern Received Pronunciation " to myself. It gives me a cheering, warm inner chuckle whenever I think about it. Brilliant! I would never have thought of that one.
Keep 'em coming.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Being on Planet Earth (in the best of circumstances) means/has always meant having to take a very deep breath before walking out the door of a morning - because Earth is such a scary planet to live on at the best of times.
Just because someone may be wary of a new vaccine, rushed though with limited testing... doesn't make them an anti-vaxxer!
No - it just makes them/us cynical enough to be wary of other peoples egos and/or lack of knowledge.
Thankfully - amongst the conventionally-minded/take the Government etc word for it are those of us that are intelligent enough/independent-minded enough that we are "questioners" by definition. Thankfully - my friendship circle includes quite a few independent-minded "questioners" and we make up our own minds for ourselves and don't automatically follow the Government etc narrative they are trying to push on us. So - yep...I can certainly see why some people use the term "sheeple" and have come to appreciate they do have a point there - when I formerly wondered what they meant.
Proud to think for myself. Proud I do know a noticeable number of other people that think for themselves.
Clue as to where to find independent thinkers seems to be those of a more "hippyish" and or "vegan" inclination - to those that agree with me (but havent said anything to date - in case of trolls). Find the people that think for themselves generally - and you will find those that are questioning/want the evidence and don't automatically "believe and obey" just because TPTB want us all to. I've learnt where to find the other questioners and there are quite a lot of us - thankfully.Have you any idea how arrogant this sounds ^^^^?

It just gets worse and worse, laugh or cry? Not sure but I'm guessing the OP just lost any support she may have had from any hippies or vegans on MSE with this statement. What I can't understand is with all these oh so knowledgable people that you have as friends why you have kept coming here for years and years, quite a sad person really.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama8 -
Would have thought this more suited to the 'Frump to Fab' thread........oh sorry, forgot you'd been chucked off there too.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle5

Is anyone else expecting a 'I went to a bootleg hairdresser and now my hair looks even worse than it did before' thread?

I was expecting "I went to a bootleg hairdresser and now look bald and have caught the disease that I don't believe in!"5

I don't know about being chucked off the Frump to Fab thread.....😅😂 I prefer to think that Moneyseeker1 and a few others had a rethink and decided that the thread wasn't for them. 😉Although I did start Frump to Fab I don't regard it as "mine", anyone is free to join in the fun and frolics. However, I am afraid I did take exception to some of the posts that had appeared - especially those that I felt were of a bullying nature to another poster. So......I simply expressed my disappointment that a lovely, friendly, kind and supportive thread had taken a wrong turning. I felt that the thread was in danger of being shut down which of course I didn't want to happen, neither did I want to see anyone banned, so I asked for a return to kind and non judgemental posts. Thankfully normal service has been resumed and life is back to normal on the thread. Everyone is kind, considerate, gentle, polite and supportive as has always been the case. These are difficult worrying times and whilst I appreciate that tempers might get a bit frayed at times and people are perhaps a bit on edge I think it behoves us all to be considerate and supportive towards others so I'm very pleased and relieved that the thread is once more constructive, upbeat and optimistic. For those who are not familiar with the Frump to Fab thread, it means exactly what it says, a group of ladies (don't know if we have any Male lurkers😁) who felt we were becoming a bit frumpy and wanted to become a bit more fabulous.....
We discuss beauty, hair, fashion and all manner of female centric issues, sharing tips and experiences of course but over the years somehow the thread has evolved and it now encompasses a whole range of lifestyle subjects, from healthy eating and exercise, to interior design, cooking, books, films, careers, you name it.I guess you could say it's about personal development, but I like to think without the po faced lecturing that some life coaches dole out. 🤣 Our mission is become the fabulous goddesses we were meant to be and of course to have a little fun along the way.4
