Polytunnel is fixed (needs another roll of gorilla tape to do the last side but usually use the zip at that side and it's in against the fence so usable). It has taken all day. Cleared everything out. Mid-afternoon I tried pulling the cover back over the roof to the front (front panel is ripped off the rest), tethering it with a bit of washing line and a piece of plastic coated wire, then doing joining strips at strategic points and finally gorilla taping over the seam. Gave mum the job of sorting small containers - yoghurt pots, various sizes of small plant pots, 'salad' boxes to use as mini propogators, cut up 2l bottles.
Several joints on the greenhouse were broken so have reconfigured to make a 3 m long, double height staging frame to go inside the polytunnel (lots of stuff around to make shelves). Dragged one of the container bags inside and put it over the middle section of the staging and the poly frame (chimney pots on the front side). Used up the remaining soil (more is on the way). Moved all the tomatoes and peppers back in (again weighting down the frame) and finally all the seedlings. They were okay because everything is either newly planted and not showing yet or ready to go out into the big wide world. Some watering to do tomorrow (first task this morning).
Made tea. Waited for food delivery and took it to the shed. Had a shower, crawled back onto the bed and have no plans to move. May not move tomorrow either (and you can't make me)
Grateful for very few casualties (one tomato branch broke and a few lettuce spilled out of their pot, good books, new books arriving, have a reasonable amount in my 365 tin (and found a fiver in the bottom of a bag for life I took out to fill with the library books I've read), getting the polytunnel back in use, having chocolate and bananas in the delivery (no 16kg bag of flour though). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Toni'sfriend - your breakfast yesterday sounds yummy 😋. We're having scrambled eggs and black pudding this morning
Yesterday I was grateful for a day off, getting lots of gardening done (mowed our grass and the communal area at the back, weeded all the borders and planted some lettuce), arranging a social distanced meeting with a friend for Thursday when the lockdown starts easing here, getting out a nice walk in the afternoon and watching a film with OH.
Looks like a gorgeous day here today so plan is to brave the supermarket for a few things, drop my gran's birthday present round to her and then sit in the garden with a bookMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

abbi_aurelia said:Hi all, just checking in. Friend has baby and is now home which is lovely, we've offered to pick up shopping for them if they need it so they can just stay home and tag team through the newborn stage. Called HMRC to change my tax code and am getting a tiny refund, tried to get cheaper renewal on home insurance but they only took of £10 and I found one £70 cheaper so switched. Energy people took a random payment so contacted them to get a refund. Took LO to the beach yesterday, she screamed when we tried paddling, but after we put shoes back on she discovered the fun of splashing in puddles so not a complete failure. Also ordered some adult stabilisers as I have forgotten how to ride a bike and am terrified of falling off so hoping to position them just above the ground to give me confidence so I can relearn. Grateful for friend being ok and home from hospital, a semi successful beach trip, helpful people sorting out refunds and the brownie I just ate (I put walnuts in, that makes it healthy right?)

Morning everyone,
I've been having a productive weekend - made payments to debt, ordered a new shredder, returned some shoes, posted a late birthday present and did a big shop in Mr A. Got very annoyed at all the shoppers who seemed incapable of following the one way system, plus there were a lot of shoppers in pairs when i thought we were still supposed to be going in singly. I have been going to Sainz (people follow the rules in there!) but it's too expensive. Oh well, glad we're stocked up and have planned all our meals for the week.
Yesterday eve went for a walk down by the river and then watched TV.
Going to continue productivity and sort a bit more in my bedroom. Hopefully the shredder will arrive next week so can shred my growing bag of paperwork.
Gratitudes - neighbour for fixing the fence panel; DD1 for clearing out the cupboard of doom under the oven (full of plastic tubs and lids that don't fit); relaxed weekend; weather staying dry for walks

Hi again, so success on wetsuit yesterday, it just fits - still could not do my first swim this morning though as had to take dog for lovely trim, first since December. Now I love my dog! Or at least she smells better. So my next swim slot is Tuesday evening, should be a bit nicer then anyways so win win. Except I now have two wetsuits to return!
SO to day I must empty small archive cabinet, sort out my bedroom - which - is - also - my - office, and my dining room - which- is - also - sort - of - my - office. And to be fair I think thats enough of a plan for today. Am thankful for a calm weekend. Mostly off screen.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

I'll do June, unless someone else really wants to. Disclaimer - I will not be held responsible for any second wave of the virus.
Slow day so far, I'm not in pain but not very mobile. I made dinner and I have done small tasks like rounding up recycling and taking it to the bins and walked the trolley round the garden, picking up and empty containers. I have 4 tin buckets that were in the polytunnel but nothing growing (I used all the old seeds and left them to one side to see if any germinated). Letting them dry out a bit then will re-use, mixed with the last 20l of good stuff. Lots of watering to do, clothes to put away and of course cleaning.
Has anyone looked at flylady (on here) recently. I looked earlier in the week, just to get some ideas for bits I could do and it looked a bit manic. I'm sure the sections used to be 'if you only have' ......15 minutes/ 30 minutes/ an hour but the first section was probably an hour's work and would have taken me all day. Lots of extra tasks which seem like precautions against the virus. Maybe it's just me getting slower and lazier. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
Afternoon! I have managed to pot on and put out three tomatoes, and added some chives around them to keep away the dreaded greenfly, put 3 courgettes outs and have kept one inside 'for Justin', but as I only have one patty pan plant, I have potted it on but kept it inside the patio doors until it is a big dangerous monster able to hold its own in the real world. Then I ran out of compost, so compost is on the shopping list , as I still need to pot on my cucumbers and give my few pots of perennials a top dressing. The kitchen is cleaned and the washing machine is on. But I don't seem to have done much else so far today. Lots of thinking and planning, but not much to show for it.Oh well, maybe later. Time for tea drinking and book reading now.
