“Letting it get to you. You know what that’s called? Being alive. Best thing there is. Being alive right now is all that counts.” Dr Who (yep, again)

Dont know about the latest quote, but the 2 earlier ones were Tom Baker from 1977 (stupid people and powerful people) and David Tennant (hermits) - dont know the name of the episode but it had Derek Jacobi in as Professor Yanna (info courtesy of my kids

Good Morning!!!
First day new job! Wish me luck!!! Trying to reboot my good habits... mindfulness and journaling and just connecting with where I am going in life... Thanks for Doctor Who quotes! There was a time I'd have known all of those haha!!!
Today I am grateful for:
1) An opportunity to learn with my new job
2) Some clarity and insights during my mindfulness
3) An extra day at home this week with my reduced hours
Just catching up with lockdown changes... If anything new in my day I'll pop on later this evening.
Have a good day everyone⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Good luck, Abundant . I'm sure you'll be fantastic.
Yesterday was a more productive day although I feel we're spending way too much money. Apart from food being more expensive we've bought quite a few things for the house. New bathroom scales for one - completely inaccurate! I think we we're sitting looking at it day after day we can see things that need done/replaced. Well I do anyway. Himself wouldn't notice if all the doors fell off. It's not anything major but it's all adding up.
Sunflower are beginning to come up much to the delight of the wee ones. Must get into the cellar and plant some more for the neighbour.
Well, it's a beautiful day. I'm finishing my coffee and then going to wash all the throws and cushion covers and sling some ingredients in the slow cooker to make a sauce for pasta for dinner.
Speak to you later.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Had a lovely long sleep, but I'm still aching and walking very slowly. Yesterday I cleaned the things from the Saturday night order, that I needed to bring into the house, filled the shed with the trolley load I had left out overnight (in case in rained - it didn't and my water butt is empty).
Had a leg of lamb dinner with mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli (all from the remains of older veg boxes) and garlic mushrooms, a gorgeous lamb rogan joush and prepped a veg curry (again using all the odds and ends of veg so that nothing is wasted), made rice salad with turmeric and chilli, defrosted frozen berries to add to sugar free jelly.
Lamb is sliced, divided into 4 small foil wrapped packages (the foil it was cooked in) and frozen for four future 'Sunday dinners', curry is portioned and in the fridge, veg curry is waiting for any additions I might yet find lurking in corners, sugar and marg mix is in the mixer bowl, need crumble mix to get rid of all last year's rhubarb and need to deal with a small tin of caramel flavoured c*rnation milk that mum opened and doesn't much like (there is a recipe on the side of the tin for toffee cheesecake which I hope is more to her liking).
Stapled a few more bottle plant pots to the fence, brought a bin load of collected bottles inside to halve whilst watching a film, did a bit more sewing and started working out the spacing for the placement of the 'inscription' (it's a new home sampler so that's a posh word for the address and the month/ year they moved in). Now the aches and pains feel justified but so much more to do. Will just stay where I am for now. See if there's anything worth watching on tv and plan my breaks around that.
Grateful for lovely food (Mum said it was really good and also that I cooked it last time she had it - that would be new year), for my bottle garden, for Pink Panther and Call the midwife, for hot water, for not having to choose between feeding my family or exposure to the virus (please consider signing the petition giving the parents the option of not sending their children back if the schools reopen). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -
Bathroom scales arrived. Eek!!!! But at least they are accurate. Proper old fashioned doctor type ones.
Throws and cushion covers all washed and dried outside. Apparently they smell lovely and fresh but I can't tell as I have no sense of smell but they look better.
Pasta sauce almost ready. Apparently that smells lovely too.
Another early night, I think.

Hope today went well abundant.
Toni's friend, I stepped on the scales this morning and wow the results were not pretty. Snacking is my downfall, my actual meals are ok, it's everything in between. So upping my exercise and cutting down on snacks started today.
Haven't posted for a while, like many been struggling a bit. Feeling much more positive today though.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Oh, Misstara. Me too. I do well with meals but snacking is my downfall. Worse now that we're in lock down and boredom is setting in. I used to eat lots of crisps but I've managed over time to resist them. I'm trying just now to really give up chocolate and stop eating between meals unless it's fruit. I thought I was doing quite well until I realised these scales were all over the place so hopefully I'll get back on track now I've got new ones. The only real exercise I do is walking and I can't do that just now so that's not helping but we don't give up. We just keep on going. Good luck. Let me know how you progress.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7
