    Thoughts for today
This weekend was my birthday! It was all really lovely, children were not with me, and I managed to get upto all sorts(please don’t tell)! 🥳 When I have my birthdays and celebrate it with the children it’s all different. I do still enjoy BUT well I have to be involved A Lot for it to turn out the way they want. Might involve being taken out for a meal that I will pay for, well they might get money together to buy me a cake. They do always get me a gift. I must say it was just nice to do it all differently this time!
Nice weekend away in a hotel all relaxed.
All that brings me to....... I got gifts and I also got £1000 cash 🎁. This cash brings me to a dilemma? Do I fritter it away on myself or should I throw it into the building fund? Building fund or shopping. I guess if I add it to building fund it can contribute to a luxurious Japanese deep soaking bath which will help de-stress after work?
What would you do ladies with your birthday monies?
Well from time to time I like watching tele. I have been watching Fixer Upper. American of cause to do with a couple in Texas who renovate for clients, they encourage them to buy a rundown place and they do it up beautifully. So I have been enjoying that for now.
Have also started watching Prodigal son on Sky one. Well that’s quite interesting about a mixed up son of a serial doctor/surgeon killer. Will see how that develops.
This Friday mortgage payment should go out and that will be the 14th payment out of the 276 payments that I should pay for this mortgage. The payment will include the regular OP. I am still making minimal weekly standing order OPs.
Paid in £500 into the save £12k in 2020. I am really grateful for this site as it means I am now really conscious about where my money goes. All these funds really and honestly they will come in handy one day for one thing or another. When all is said and done it means more financial security! All in all it means a Big Emergency Fund! Each month I feel more and more financially confident!
Well this month without a doubt I should manage to get 10% of the building fund saved. I will sweep 🧹 around accounts to make it over that 10% it will be nice to start leaning towards the next 10%.
I am hoping I will be able to find the architects funds elsewhere so as not to disturb the building fund. Will see.
Well let me get on with work! Have you listened and watched the song “I have got bills I have got to pay and I have to work work work everyday?”! Songs really describes life right?
    Xx

    Morning SG!

Just catching up, Kent was amazing and very cool compared hot sticky London and I’ve been trying to do my errands whilst it’s still cooler in the mornings. My balcony is on the third floor of my block south facing, which is lovely but no shade so I opted for an Ikea mini parasol. I took photos of my progress to show students at school but funnily enough there’s  a revamp garden/patio/competition in our block so I might as well submit, nothing to loose. The fraud still entails, constantly on the phone 🙄.

Excellent news on the architect, it is well under way now. Happy belated 🎂  for the weekend, it’s my mums today, so a beauty trip and a bite to eat maximising the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. As for presents, or birthday monies, it is always the same - Mulberry gift card 😂. I’m such a frugal person, so my only treats are my bags. Birthday is coming up and I’m gonna save up to buy the Big C for Big 40 in 2 years time. So cash it will be put into fixed saver and after that, I’ll probably put any further money I get into savings.

I’m conscious that my relaxed spending in June - July, will be impacted when school starts in September that I may not be able to catch up and meet my revised targets for EF and MFW at the end of the year. Hopefully more cooking at home, using my expensive but worthwhile Magimix for the first time in ages will stop the lunchtime spending.

PS I love a refurb programme, I think I mentioned that Your home made perfect series 1
was put on bbc iPlayer. Also love it/ list it. I was watching the home improvement twins also.

@Sistergold Happy birthday! On birthday cash, spend it on the Japanese soaking bath! Then it's both functional for the house and a treat for you.

@Sandyra Mulberry was my Achilles heels. Had my eye on an Amberley when it first came out. Still haven't got it!
  • @Sistergold Re: birthday money i would absolutely allocate yourself some guilt-free spends :) £100? £150? Enough to get yourself something you'll really appreciate. Even spending £200 you'd still be saving 80% of the money...  And if it's for the house like @helloB suggests, then even better!
    Choose kind:)

That balcony is a winner! You have my vote that it’s the best revamp in the whole complex!

    Good morning ladies
Mortgage went out yesterday. This included a standing OP of £400. New mortgage balance today was £466539.42 to make it a round figure I made a small OP of £39.42 bring it to £466500. Looks much better with the zero at the end.
