Thank you for that feedback as I was really at a dilemma and leaning towards a plain bathtub as I just like to keep things simple? It was a matter of not missing what I don’t know I guess. I am now at an age and time I just don’t want to not try something.
The deep baths though are working up more expensive once you start adding the whirlpool for some reason. Like the bathtub might be around £700 or less and once you want to add whirlpool it can add another £1500 plus? The jump in price is what was making me wonder if best forget about the whirlpool but I think I will go for it now!  Nice to get feedback from someone who has used it. It’s also good that the whirlpool mechanism seems to whirl for a while so that’s good!
Good to know about the easy cleaning process aswell!

As you have got time before you need it and can build the size to your own specifications keep an eye out for sales or end of line ones on Ebay etc.

I bought my double ended bath with the jacuzzi system brand new for £149 from Victorian Bathrooms. I appreciate deep baths are probably more expensive but this is the way I have kept all my costs down. I have bought things really cheap as I knew I was going to need them and then made the build fit round them and it has worked out perfectly.

    Reflections for today
Laddies I hope you are all fine and you have started the week on your good 🦶? How are the overpayments going?
Well I seem to now have big plans for things I want to do round the house. Past few weeks saw me all pumped up for overpayments but I am now planning to increase my savings further and reduce my plans for monthly OPs. I had increased my OPs to closer £900 as more than £999 needs a phone call and paperwork. I now think I will continue to aim for around £400- £500 OPs and start saving like crazy so as to develop the house.
I want to prioritise developing the house so that I enjoy the changes and not for resale. I want to benefit from the changes as early as possible really so that if I don’t get back the money at the end it will not matter?
I think a good starting point for the things I want to do will be about £100k? Targeting to save this amount will take me a bit of time meaning I will not rush to do anything so as to really assess what I really want and not do it on the whim. So I am going to discount the savings I have now and start this £100k challenge. I am hoping that by the time I save this amount I will be able to weigh if the house development plans are more important to me than reducing my mortgage by almost a quarter(£100k) at that time? I am hoping this way I won’t do anything in a rush?
In the meantime though I will start writing and looking at what I would want in these house developments. I have gone ahead and obtained some quotes for the deep soaking whirlpool tub and the price is quite out there so I will keep looking. Getting these quotes will hopefully help me be level headed about the things I still want to do and those I will skip.
I will also post the pictures of the quotes on here as I go along so that you can comment and make suggestions?
    Xx

Morning ladies, hope everyone had a good weekend.

@Sistergold I have a whirlpool Jacuzzi bath tub in my old house. It was really nice. 2 things I learnt, put less amount of bubble bath otherwise the bubbles will overflow! And if you haven't used it for a while, run and clean it out to get rid of sediment. It's wonderful.

On your quotes, whilst they don't seem wildly out of expectation, keep an eye on Amazon as well as eBay. Especially as you have time to wait for sales and keep an eye out on stock clearance.
  • Sistergold I really love your plan to save 100k. This is a scary amount of money. I admire you as I too have a large sum to save for a deposit for a property but like to aim high!

    @HelloB good morning
Thank you for that, so it means it’s not wild prices then? 🤢 Okay that means just for the whirlpool system I will be best advised to budget about £6K as I don’t see the point spending £4K and it does not blow all the whistles? So that’s one thing I will have to let sink in. After spending that much I will see if I can use it at least once a week at least!

£100K is surely a big figure and I am not sure if I will want to part with it when it’s altogether in the bank! 🤑
What is your target figure for your deposit?
