@Sistergold and @slm6002 it's just finished but it will be on bbc iplayer. It's on the second series but I'm watching the series 1 on iplayer too. The premise is a couple who need a renovation/ property makeover. They give their brief to 2 architects who then help them visualise their ideas through virtual reality. They then pick their favourite design and make the build.

<3 it, it’s so addictive. It’s definitely given me ideas. Watch out for Robert’s window, bench, wraparound seat, it makes a weekly appearance  :D

    Good morning ladies
Thank you all for the contributions on the en-suite post. I have now had a lot to be thinking about before I start engaging with a builder and architect.
I have been looking at what I would want to be in bathroom and I have excitedly remembered about the Japanese style deep soaking bath tubs.
There is quite a bit of choice and can have whirlpool in them as well. Not sure about the whirlpool and how much of a maintenance issue that will bring? Anyone with whirlpool bath experience? Would it be better to just go fo a plain soaking bathtub?
Also not sure if I should do a two person soaking bath 🥂 or just for one person?🤔

    http://www.bathroomexpress.co.uk/acatalog/Pegasus-Oronsay-Deep-Soaking-Bath.html

I want to think of what I hope to fit in the en-suite and let that determine how much floor space to assign to bathroom and how much to assign to the walk-in wardrobe.
So I have settled on getting this type of bathtub as in the other bathroom there is a traditional bathtub.
Anyone with experience of the deep soaking tubs? Any recommendations?
All along I was thinking of having the shower and bathtub on opposite walls but also saw the arrangement in the above picture ie side by side and thought that might also be a good possibility? What do you think?
    Xx

    @Sistergold

I have a whirlpool bath and absolutely love it. I don't have a bath very often but when I do I always use the jacuzzi. My daughter also loves it. I don't know why anyone would have a normal bath now when you can buy one of these for the same price or cheaper, just a bit of luxury.

My ex and I put a big corner whirlpool bath in our home before we split but once I had one I said I would never go back to a normal bath. I have a double ended bath with 6 whirlpool jets. To be honest if I was to get another one I would go for more jets just for a better experience. The bath is now 16 years old but when I replaced my bathroom again last year I kept it and just bought new covers for the jets as they are polished chrome on plastic and the chrome was starting to flake off. The new covers cost no more than £12 from Ebay and the bath is like new.

When I clean the bath I just unscrew the round covers and clean under them and the jets. Honestly it is nothing much more than cleaning the bath. I have never had to clean the system.

    A few tips:

You will need a power supply outside of the bathroom to run the motor. Mine goes through the bathroom wall and is plugged into a plug socket in the bedroom next to it. If you are having yours built just make sure your election is aware the bath will need electricity and the plans cater for it.

Go for one with a lot of jets and different speeds so you can tailor your bath to how you feel at the time.

Do not add bubble bath if you are using the jacuzzi. I did it the first time and ended up sitting in a pile of bubbles overflowing from the bath - lol.
